Wow! This place is a super rip off! Drip coffee for $3.75 a cup? You’ve got to be kidding me. Look, I like my artisan coffees as much as the next person, but this place is totally out of touch.
The coffee here is outstanding! The location is tucked away a bit but it’s a wonderful little spot to come for a drink. My review is a little late but we stopped in here during the winter when we needed something to warm us up and we wanted to support a cozy, little coffee shop (not Starbucks). Glad we found one on the southside as we are not fans of driving downtown for coffee. I had a chai tea latte and the mister had an americano misto. I can’t explain how much the chai flavor hits you in the face but it’s the most pleasant and delightful taste I’ve ever gotten out of a latte and I was delighted to find it at Transcend. It had just the right amount of sweetness and came through the milk moreso than any other I’ve had. The americano had bold roasted flavor and was right up my coffee lover hubby’s alley and we think of the drinks fondly. I think it’s time we made it back for another round! I usually take my coffee black and am looking forward to trying some other offerings.
Delicious coffee, friendly staff, and a nice environment. Located in quite a busy area, so be wary if you are driving. Definitely worth trying!
Seriously, the coffee is actually really good. Seating is crazy limited, so I wouldn’t count on snagging a spot, but if you do, it’s a good one! Would feel confident taking my most coffee snobby friends for coffee here.
Very fine coffee, blastedly hard to find a decent seat. This place does have great coffee, but it’s hard to find a nice spot to sit for a while. People sit with their laptops for what seems like hours and jam up the dang place! Please go to the library or your local Starbucks for that. I’ve actually only been able to sit at a table, not the counter or on a stool at a communal table, once. I guess I’ll rephrase with the more diplomatic ‘Seating is limited.’ I tend to pop in and then out of the 99st. location for a solid cup of joe.
Nothing at all special. They have coffee. Great. Nothing special. Just a place where hipsters tend to gather. Takes more than that to impress me
After hearing so much about Transcend I decided to drop by and pick up a bag of coffee. Bought 340g Finca Manila and very disappointed. Its not bad but for the price its nothing amazing, and from my amateur roasting experience I found the beans to be a bit overdone (probably the biggest culprit).
