This place has a nice layout, good location (directly East of the London Drugs), service was good, and the #56 Vietnamese soup was excellent-fresh, flavorful, affordable. They get my repeat business for sure when in the area plus I would take family/friends. I have no comment on anything they need to improve-all was good. I have no idea why the rating here is 3.3-too low in my opinion and I’ve had Vietnamese in many different restaurants (lots to compare it to), would give it 4.7 if I could.
First impression of Golden Bell is that is nicer than most Vietnamese restaurants with modern, clean decor. The servers were friendly but very quiet. As usually everyones food comes at random times and there’s absolutely no follow up on if everything is ok or even if you’d like another drink. Standard for these types of restaurants though.The food was sub par for me. I ordered the green curry beef dish and it was way too sweet. It had too much coconut milk in it. The spice level was not where I would have expected it be either. The beef was skimpy. Nothing to write home about as there are much better options around the city.
Drove around for a bit and googled Vietnamese food and ended up at golden bell. I ordered the porkchop rice with egg. Rice came out a bit mushy. The pork chop was a bit rough and was too sweet. There are so many better places than here in the sw. But the service is better than most the other Vietnamese places in this area. I do like how they made the plate look like a fish.
The service here is pretty good and the prices aren’t bad. I usually order the beef ball pho and it comes with lots of beef ball. I would not recommend their wonton noodle soup! Everytime I or somebody else ordered it, it came with 1 wonton. It’s not a big wonton either. We also tell them there’s only 1 but they basically say thats all there’s supposed to be. When I order wonton soup, I expect wontons and not a wonton.
First time to this location. The service was very good and our waitress very attentive. I found my soup very bland without much flavour. But a good size portion and very fresh.
Been here several times. Service is always great at this location! Their pho is so good and reasonably priced!! Their entres aren’t bad neither. I tried their chicken on red fried rice and thought it was good but nothing I couldn’t have made myself at home.. Their noodle entres are good as well, but nothing special. Their bubble tea is good, but they put a lot of pearls (which can be reduced if you just say so). They also just renovated a few months ago. I’d say 4 out of 5 stars for service, pho, location, and price. But only for pho!!
