Absolutely amazing. Ordered gluten free pizza and hands down it was the best. Was reassured he understood gluten issues. Also ordered a regular crust pizza as well. We were visiting and I got told it was awesome. It’s a hidden gem and when we visit Calgary again we will use again. Only down fall no delivery but don’t let that hinder you cause you won’t be disappointed with the product!!
I live in the SE but will travel all the way to Howies for pizza. Its the best pizza in town hands down. Sauce is amazing and the crust is fluffy and tastes like bread. So many toppings are put on it that I can’t even eat a whole pizza from here and the leftovers the next day are delicious too. The owners Howie and his wife are super friendly every time I come in and even though its always busy they always have time to talk and make me feel welcome and they remember me. Its worth the trip for that kind of food and service.
Worst Pizza I’ve ever had in calgary!!! Even frozen Pizza from the grocery is better. In addition, the owners were unfriendly! While trying to order, it seemed like I was disturbing them! Will never recommend this place and will never return.
Wow! I feel like I just had a Mystic Pizza experience. As a celiac, I am terrified of eating out, especially pizza where wheat flour is in the air and potentially anywhere in a pizzeria. Nevertheless, having heard good things about Howie’s and bored with my own cooking tonight, I decided to take the plunge. My husband is never happy with a purchased pizza (too much crust, too little toppings), but he agreed to try it. I ordered the Greek with meat, gluten-free and my husband had a thin crust meat lovers. Not only were the pizzas incredibly pleasing to the eye, they were perfectly delicious, generously topped with good quality ingredients, nice and crispy on the bottom, not greasy and my gluten-free crust blew the doors off any crust I’ve ever tried to make or pre-made ones I’ve purchased. Howie’s a great guy, the establishment is very orderly and clean and from ordering ’til pick-up was only 20 minutes (on a Saturday night no less). We give Howie’s 10/10!
Yeah….was very disappointed tonight…..read the owners review and was motivated to support a business that was in my community….called at 9:30pm…no answer…. i thought they just might be busy, and I thought I would go the extra mile as a consumer and drive to the business to order personally and meet the owner….pulled up around 9:40pm…Open sign was on….young kid sweeping up….he saw me pull up and then locked the door….???????…..super disappointing…especially since their website says they are open till 10pm…..yeah…super disappointing since the owners review is what motivated me to go to their business in the first place!

Great pizza and friendly staff. I went into Howies the other day and ordered some pizza for my friends and family for a birthday party and they were the friendliest staff I have ever met. The young man and the lady made it felt like we were welcoming and we were more then just a customer. I will be back and so will my friends and family.
