The food is good here, crowded and noisy but it gets really busy. I normally go here for dinner. My partner loves their deep fried eggplant. The Peking duck is not the best, the other dishes are pretty good. Real Chinese food served here!
Their lunch food is cheaper and tastes better than dinner. Lots of variety if you’re looking for authentic noodle or congee dishes for lunch.
I gave one star because at least a couple of dishes were barely edible. The taste of the food from this restaurant was….hmmmm…. I can’t describe it as all the dishes were tasteless, like hospital foodJelly fish with sliced pork hock: jelly fish was completely tasteless as if they just pulled out from the tap water. Foo Gian Fried Rice, Crab meat sauce on pea shoots: the sauces tasted like water with cornstarch – no depth, no flavour whatsoeverLamb Stew: This was the most horrifying and inedible. It was sent back. The lamb was tough and the meat definitely wasn’t stewed enough and mingled with the sauce. The meat tasted like it was boiled in water and them mixed with the sauce. The sauce was like water with some dark soy – absolutely flavourless!! The server explained that sometimes the lamb came from an old sheep so it’s tough. Do you understand what she meant? What about the taste??Steamed fish and Princess Chicken: The doneness was great, but the sauce again tasteless.Deep fried pork chops and Salt n’ Pepper Squid: The pork chop had a lingering baking soda flavour. Both dishes were a bit bland but a little bit better than other tasteless dishes. If you are a health nut, this restaurant may be ok for you. For foodies, don’t go near it!!!
Wow. The amount of salt that I consumed at dinner tonight was ridiculous. All the dishes could have used less salt, since the flavours were all there. In terms of service, it was standard Chinese restaurant fare- expect some hand waving and waiting. There also seems to be a cost for tea or sweet soup now- $1 was added to our bill.
This is one of the chinese restaurants my family and I always go to that does decent authentic chinese dishes. Last night we ordered the set dinner for 6 for $88 and our whole family was impressed with the variety. We upgraded our soup to the soup within a radish (delicious!) and added sweet and sour pork chops. They give you complimentary chinese dessert or fruits if they run out. They could use some reno as the restaurant is quite small. There’s never more than 2 servers but they are constantly busy and give good suggestions.
Bad bad bad service and ok food , the people was so rude , like I own them money , the place was so loud ….
Rude service & pricey. The waitress (light brown hair owner(?) was kind of forcing you what to order. The steamed fish (around 8 oz) charged $18.99 or $18.95. The Cantonese fried chicken was over cooked & dried. We have been eaten there for many times in the past year but from now on will not return.
