We ordered through Skip the Dishes and this was some of the best Indian I’ve eaten in Calgary. The butter chicken was buttery and creamy, lots of sauce with big hunks of chicken. The coconut rice had actual chunks of coconut, delish. The mutter paneer was thick and full of cheese and peas. But the winner was the naan bread, dreaming of the naan bread. hipkineatsthings.com
I live in the area, and had been tempted to stop and pick up dinner (or lunch) many times. Now that I finally have, I would describe the food and experience as underwhelming. Unfortunately I dropped into the restaurant (rather than delivery) which may have helped set me up for disappointment. It looks cluttered and thrown together with a hodgepodge of plastic furniture (I cant imagine anyone eating in though); signs are hand printed and messy… it just doesnt look like a business interested in looking tidy and professional. I had serious second thoughts (hopefully things were better in the kitchen??) but went ahead and ordered – maybe it would be a great hidden gem find?? However the food was just average overall. The saffron rice was really nice and everything else was…. fine. I found the prices a bit high all things considered – about $22/pp for dinner which was hard to swallow when it looks like such a hole in the wall spot.
