Not only does Fratello make amazing coffee, they also provide exceptional customer service. I am growing potatoes in burlap bags this year, and they happily provided me with the large coffee bags for free! Seriously one of Calgary’s best companies!
It’s disappointing that a coffee shop that does pour-over brew to order coffee will not brew their decaf. They have a naturally decaffeinated coffee from Peru but will not do a pour-over. I find this very strange. If you want decaf you must get an espresso drink.
Greatest coffee roasted here. If you’re looking to start out on trying different coffees start here. Then talk with the knowledgeable staff who really know the coffee like Cora. You’ll find what type of coffee you’ll like as if it were wine. If you’re looking to find just make that one or two perfect cups per day then you found a home. If you’re new into coffee for yourself, start with a aeropress and manual mill and work your way up. Once you have this coffee, you can’t go back to fast food bitter coffee again. You’ll want rich smooth coffee like this from now on.
Absolutely the best service, best espresso in the city. I love this place it was so pretty and clean and they made coffee into an art. Definatly a must try for coffee lovers.

Hmmm – great coffee. Sadly, the previous reviewer knows nothing about coffee/espresso. she probably calls it expresso. starbucks is the only place I can think of that uses smaller shots in their 12oz coffees. most places use a double shot, regardless of size, which is what fratello does. want more espresso? add a shot. easy!anyway, fratello is generally considered to be the best coffee in the city, and usually where I buy my beans. it’s great.
Fratello coffee in the Calgary farmers market is a total rip off. They have 2 sizes of cups, 12 oz & 16 oz, and for both sizes they each have 2 shots of espresso, which makes no sense in the first place because the whole point of a larger cup is to add more espresso. Even more ridiculous, for an americano, the 16 oz is $0.50 more..so you’re essentially paying $0.50 for the cup which is totally unheard of & makes no sense. I will never ever go to this coffee place again & I have told all my friends to avoid it as well.
