I would have given 3.5 if I could. It was quite empty when we were there. Fried toufu was a good choice, dragon rolls were not bad but with too little eel on the top! My husband had fried udon, it was so so and not hot. Hot food has to be hot when its just served!! The desert, fried brownie with ice cream was terrible. It looked terrible and tasted also terrible, haha!
When I first walked in… it seemed like a club by night and restaurant by day. The decor was very modern and the service was good. My friends and I came in after lunch hours and we were all craving sushi. We all ordered and the sushi came… the portions were large and it tasted okay – nothing out of the ordinary.
The chirashi bowl with spicy sauce was an absolute work of art, and tasted as good as it looked. Very impressed with the quality of this restaurant!
Stopped by a couple of days ago with a friend, had never been there before, parking at lunch time is a bit of a pain, but once you get in the restaurant its nicely done comfortable with the nice booths, in black or white, the service was prompt at seating and order, the menu is fairly typical sushi joint, rather outdated names, of former Calgary flame players that have long moved on, however that may be there intent, but a lot of patrons wouldn’t have a clue who they were, in any event the food was okay, again very typical sushi joint, nothing was earth shattering, but it was good , nothing i could say was markedly better then any other chain type sushi place,it took a while to get the bill but other then that it was fine, I would go back.
Globefish used to be my more favourite sushi place in Calgary. Their menu changed a bit and there is no more red tuna carpaccio, so I’m quite sad about it. I’ll need to find it elsewhere hopefully. Fish seems like a daily order here and always fresh.
This was the first sushi place I had ever been to and went with my friend and her family. It is more of a white person sushi place I find but still has a good variety for everyone to choose from. I prefer this location over the one in chinook as I don’t find it as crowded or as loud. Their crispy spicy tuna roll is very good as is their shrimp dumplings.
Good chain restaurant with locations in good neighborhoods. I like their combos, you know what you’re getting and it’s generally quite a good deal. The quality of their fish is in the middle, they won’t exactly win any awards. But if you like a no nonsense sushi restaurant, try their Kensington location, it’s quite friendly and the place is always lively.
