Yunnan is an amazingly beautiful province in China, which was part of the Silk Road. Sliced pork with preserved vegetable was very delicious. You may find it a bit salty, but it is supposed to be eaten with plain rice. Yunnan style spicy chicken was not s bad choice, either, it has potato inside, if you prefer boneless chicken, then maybe should order other chicken dishes, I think there are many other good choices. We also ordered the traditional Yunnan cross bridge rice noodle soup, that was a disappointment though.
Food was good but was forced to tip the waitress by 10%, she said it was required to pay 10%. We dont have a group of 6 or 10 which is reasonable to pay 10%. Weve been here many times but never experienced this before. We dont think this is mandatory tho. Will never come back again!
We dined here a few weeks ago for the first time. We love spicy food and that fact that they specialize in Spicy Chinese food was interesting. We had 4 dishes in total which was a lot of food for 2 people. The waitress stopped at the 4th dish. Two of the dishes were not spicy (Sweet & Sour ribs and garlic Chinese broccoli), the other 2 had two peppers on the menu (Spicy lamb and Spicy fried rice), we enjoyed all the dishes and found that the spicy ones were not too hot for us. I would easily try a three pepper dish at some point. The waitress was kind and took the time to answer our questions. We enjoyed all 4 dishes, but would probably not order the lamb again. There was nothing wrong with it, but we did not like it as much as the other 3. We had enough food for lunch the next day and then some. They do not have an alcohol license which I found odd as they are not a new restaurant and they did have house wine in the menu so I am not sure what the story is. It would have been nice to have a glass of wine with the meal.
The waitress insisted request at least 15% tips and told us this is their rule. This is Calgary, never has such stupid rule as I know after live here for almost 20 years. The restaurant is not clean as well. Not recommend this one.
Awesome, authentic southern Chinese food – love it here. Prices are great, food is tasty, and restaurant is family-owned. Would definitely suggest trying out some of the spicy dishes.
Very authentic Chinese food, they have some Canadian Chinese food too, but order something else. Chef’s spicy Chicken is amazing! Try to avoid to come there on weekends.
The best authentic Chinese food in the city! Quick service and awesome for takeout. Favourites include the Szechuan eggplant, beef and lotus root, cold noodle salad, taro spring rolls, and chilli fish.
