We love this place! Hidden gem! And we used to love OEB so much… now we only head to the Daily for their delicious breakfast. We even heard that Reds in Kensington was better and should check it out, and by far The Daily has way better food. Their pancakes are perfect and their hash browns are the tastiest we’ve ever come across 🙂 and it’s not very busy (hence why I’m writing this as I want it to stay open!! So good!!
I liked the casual vibe of the is lower level breakfast joint. There are some Gluten Free options and modifications that can be done on the menu which is always important to me.My Bacon, Tomato, cheese frittata was very good and the side order of fruit nicely fresh and tasty. I felt that price -wise they were a little more reasonable for breakfast than someplace like Dairy Lane which appeals.Another bonus, they serve the same drip coffee featured upstairs in Higher Ground – YUM!
So brutal. Been there twice and both times sucked. Bad hash browns. Get your s**t together you are a breakfast place. Come ON! Bad Hollandaise too. Bland and over priced.
My girlfriend and I have been here three times. The dcor is great and the menu is also great. The service is decent enough. The biggest problem is simply the food. Almost everything on the menu sounds great, but the food has beenquite bland each time we’ve been here. I’ve added salt myself to each meal I’ve tried here. The food would greatly benefit from adding a bit of seasoning. Don’t be afraid to use a bit of salt and pepper!
Friendly, bright and great sandwhich! Worth checking out. Had the corned beef and it was tasty and fresh. The service was great. Need 140 characters.
Grabbed breakfast here with a girlfriend after an early Saturday spin class at YYC Cycle. It’s a cute little spot under Higher Ground. The coffee was great (& bottomless! hurrah!) & our server was great. She was super friendly & attentive. It was quiet when we arrived around 9:30 am, but was getting a lot busier when we left. I ordered the breakfast poutine & it was awesome. If you like poutine, I’d definitely go for it. The cheese curds were great, the hollandaise was delicious, & the potatoes were crispy. I added smoked bacon & have no regrets. I was full all day & conquered all my errands! I compare almost every brunch to OEB, & this is definitely held it’s own. A great brunch option (especially if you hate waiting in line for OEB)! whoalansi.com
The coffee is amazing (thanks to the higher ground upstairs) decor is trendy, food comes out quick. Other than that, it was the worst breakfast experience I’ve had in a very long time. The music was so loud it was hard to keep a conversation going, we had to add salt to our burnt and somehow undercooked meal. The pancakes were hard, thick, and nothing like pancakes at all. Super disappointed.
