My wife and I revisited Allegro’s for the first time in over five years and had a great time! We had to wait a bit to be seated but had a great chat with the bartender. Solid wine list and huge portions! The staff were attentive and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this restaurant for a fun night out.
I have always liked Allegro and Rico, the owner. Last night we took a guest for dinner and I must say it was outstanding. The Calamarie in sauce was as good as I have ever tasted as were the Garlic Prawns. Main course of Veal Classico was just that… Classico… Well done Allegro.
Pretty Plain. Service was ok. We were in the private room and the server didn’t really come around enough. I had to walk out and flag a guy down to get a water refill after the my first request took too long. It took a really long time for food to come out but we did have ~12 peopleRoom was crowded and seamed disorganized. The private room had its own music on and it was very distracting to listen to that and the music from the main roomPortions are big. I had special, roast leg of lamb and pasta. It was huge. While the lamb was tender and well herb’ed, there was nothing that really stood out. The Pasta was pretty plain. While it was not bad, there is far better food near by.
Horrible experience from start to finish!!!!. We were treated terribly from the beginning. Our 7:30 reservation was not available until 8:00. Entire staff were rude and dismissive. We were bumped into by waiters in this overcrowded restaurant without even an apology. Despite being in my neighbourhood, I will never return to this restaurant. Food was mediocre at best. There are much better choices in the vicinity.
Well run restaurant. We just went here for the first time, to meet another couple for some Christmas cheer. The place is small and intimate, but quite lovely. Our waiter was every so professional and kept us eating and drinking right on time. Two of us had canelloni and two had the linguine with seafood. Both dishes were huge! Tastes were good. Only one real drawback. As an hour derve, we ordered calamari, and this was probably the worst calimari we have ever had. It was too thinly sliced, and much overcooked, with too much coating. You guys have to improve on this dish or else remove it from the menu. My husband said the same calamari was in the linguini dish, and was the same thinly sliced squid. We should have sent it back, but we were all hungry and didn’t want to wait for another dish to be served. For such a fine Italian restaurant, they sure screwed up on this dish. On the other hand, wine list was good, and the Italian buns were warm and soooo fresh.
Great Food. This place has exceptional pasta and atmosphere. A definite gem in Crestwood. Owner is always present and quality follows.
