Local food, great taste.. I was so happy when Care-It opened in this location a few years ago. It had been Urban Fare, a gourmet grocery (which was amazing) and then the ill-run and not-amazing Debaji’s. Then I started to see Care-It ready-to-eat meals popping up in delis in the Strathcona and downtown areas. I immediately went to the store in Crestwood and was in heaven!Opened & run by several chefs who wanted to be able to get and sell local meats, vegetables and prepare fresh & delicious ready-to-eat meals and foods, Care-It is an essential fixture to this area (to Edmonton, really).They support many local producers. Green Eggs and Ham, Irvings Farm, Beary Berry Honey, and The Jam Lady are just a few they stock in their coolers. Great selection of delicious ready-to-eat meals, soups, sauces, dips, cookies and loaves.You can buy fresh chicken, meat, seafood, cheese and deli items as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you have large orders, best to call ahead as they don’t keep the same amount of stock as a full-on butcher.Great place.
