Great Brunch. A cheery welcome when we opened the door was the beginning of a great brunch. Uncrowded and unhurried would be an apt description of the dining room. That followed to the buffet which was set up in the reception area. Everything was fresh and tasty and several items were far better than they were at most buffets I have been to in my lifetime. It’s being brunch you could choose from both breakfast and lunch items and as always there was a gentleman making omelettes to order. Following the main course the dessert bar was again well above the usual buffet fair as it was made in house by their pastry chef. The bread pudding was divine, the pie was all amazing (sharing is recommended as the portions are not really small), and the cheesecake and mousse followed the excellence displayed in the rest of the items. Will definitely be back….
Terrible service, so so food. We visited for lunch with our 2 children – Should have guessed that it was going to be slow by the time it took to be seated. Waitress couldn’t remember the special, and had no idea what was in it when we asked. The kids meal chicken was burnt, and because they ran out of ketchup they thought it would be better to cover it in au jus sauce. (Kids hated it) Ceaser salad was nasty, bitter taste. Waitress was completely clueless, slow and at no time ever asked us about our meal. Just kept saying how busy it was, when the restaurant was maybe 40% full….On a good note the club wasn’t bad, but small servings for what it cost. Overall a waste of $50.
Rude hostess, overpriced, understaffed. Went here for the first time because we’re regular visitors to Fort Edmonton park and had relatives in town. Booked a reservation online; arrive at appropriate time and hostess tells us rudely that same-day bookings don’t show up in their system, and so our seat wasn’t ready. Continues to be rude, unfriendly. We should have left at that point. When we were finally seated and told we could get our food (it’s buffet style), they were out of plates! So we had to wait while they were washed.Food pricing is also a problem. Price is $30, which covers admission to the park ($18). We have season’s passes to the park, and the attendant at the gate said that the cost would be lower for those with season’s passes. Found out this is not true (again, rudely told by the hostess). For what the food was, it was overpriced. The food is okay tasting, but not worth the price and nothing special. We would not go back, and the restaurant should be embarassed for this kind of quality; the hostess’ terrible attitude was the biggest problem. Fort Edmonton Park should also be concerned as it doesn’t reflect well on the park.
Amazing Sunday Brunch!. I’m not sure if this is the same place, but we recently found out about a brunch the Hotel in the Fort put on in January and I’m not sure if its still running. We nabbed a few promo tickets online and made our way down after booking reservations.I have to say, it was one of the better brunch buffets I’ve had in the city. Everything was cooked to near perfection and while they didn’t have a carvery, they did have wonderfully tender roast beef already carved up and ready to go, if you’re looking for it. Me? I stuck to the smoked salmon (Atlantic, the only way to go), eggs bene (that you could actually cut through), lusciously rich and perfectly browned breakfast sausage (the skinny little guys), crispy yet grease free bacon… there’s no need to go on. It was a breakfast brunch with all the fixings and an omlette station armed by a chef in the big hat. The assortment of desserts was as plentiful as one could want.Service was awesome, friendly, and fast for beverages and plate clearing. Price was $25 a person but we had a 15% off I believe. It’s also the first time they’ve run it as far as we were told. I hope they keep it up!
Horrible service!. If you have time to waste in Fort Edmonton, go here! It is overpriced food for what you get. The ketchup in the Heinz bottle was not Heinz ketchup. It was some awful grainy stuff that was dollar store grade (if the sold ketchup there). We waited ten minutes for your bill and finally had to ask for it and had to leave the money on the table since we wanted to leave that day. My advice is to go to the burger joint in the park, cheap and tasty burgers and simple.
