Enjoyed a regular donair last night. Very good. The meat tasted juicy, and all of the toppings were fresh. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this place, I’m glad to have had a chance to try it. Will be going back.
Mama & Papa Are Back!. As of 2013, the old owners of Mr Donair Sub & Hamburgers are back. Mama & Papa completely own the place again and have once again returned to making quality products. In conversations they revealed the previous owners ordered low quality kebab meat and various other choices Mama & Papa thought reduced quality. Even after the hiatus, Mama still remembered just the way I like my donair. No lettuce & Extra sauce.For those genuinely new to this place, do not let the outward, plain appearance turn you off. At first glance this hole in the wall donair shop in a not-so-great area of town on Stony Plain Road. But once you step inside you’ll quickly discover a hidden gem. I can always count on the staff there to made a high quality donair. The pita is always fresh (steamed) and the meat is of great quality also juicy.The sweet sauce is among my all time favourite in the city, and that’s even after trying the popularly revered Swiss Donair. I would definitely recommend Mr Donair if your hungry and driving by! After all, even if you disapprove you only lose $7.50.
Just Crap. Used to go here but is under new ownership for a while. It is not like it used to be and the man that served me did not care. I asked for loaded and got a basic and very little sauce. I went home and added stuff to make it good. Too many good places to go there NEVER AGAIN!!
