I’ve been here a couple of times for dinner and once for dim sum.On both occassions, dinner was great and I found it better than Good Buddy (there was a time I frequented there just because of convenience). The dim sum is made-to-order and is not a push cart systhem. With that being said, you can expect fresh dim sum that tastes really good. However, you will have to wait quite a bit. We waited about 30-45 mins just for dim sum. If you usually go to dim sum to have a quick brunch or you enjoy the hustle and bustle and loud socializing environment, Wok n Roll isn’t for you.Service was not bad on all the times I went – the only complaint that I have is how long the dim sum took. Otherwise, it is just like any other Chinese restaurant where the service is at it’s minimum.Expect weekend dinners to be busy but weekdays shouldn’t be so bad. Dim sum was not busy at all.
Went here for dim sum when I used to live in the area. It was some alright dim sum. We also checked out there dinner menu and the food was just average as well. Nothing to go crazy over for the dim sum or the dinner. I find the food more catered for Caucasian and nothing authentic. Have never been back, but I am surprised they are still open, so some people must still enjoy their food. I was there back in the early 2000’s.
Dim sum here is great! I like the ordering style (instead of carts) because I feel that the quality of the dishes is better. They come out fresher and hotter and you get exactly what you want!Food came out hot and the quality is superior to other dim sum places in the city I’ve been to. Meat dishes have lots of substance and not too much filler or salt. Lots of variety too, some dishes I’ve never tried and, of course, the dim sum favorites. The price is also excellent, I would eat here again!EDIT: Okay I also want to add that the service here is great, especially for a Chinese restaurant! Most Chinese restaurants, you expect mediocre service (scowling faces, rolling eyes, long waits) but the staff here are excellent! They smile, they’re polite, they bring you anything extra that you need (hot sauce, water etc) quickly. Very impressed with the service here!
Paul Hargas.. Discussed with this company. Used to be good. Ordered for over 10 years and now get ripped off. Over charged and shorted spring rolls and chicken fried rice. Never order from them again.
Love it. Good hing i did not believe in negative reviews. Been ordering Chinese foods at szechuans for 6 yrs. and I am the kind of person that you need to try it to believe it. This is the best chinese restaurant ever and will continue to be its customer. No more Szecuans restaurant for me yippers.
Best dim sum in YEG!
Everything was great when they first opened. But now the food and the service(lady at till) has gone down hill. Don’t know if it’s becuz they were getting popular and didn’t care anymore but most restaurants are like this. They should definitely re evaluate before they get a bad name. Their dim sum is what is good, dinner is only ok. Not great.
