I recommend the waitlist system that they have. It is very convenient. The restaurant was very busy but servers are attentive. Ordered the upstream Benny and short rib hash. Foodwise, I will not be back. I did not enjoy the dishes and felt that it was overpriced for what you get. The waffle does not go well for an eggs benedict and I didn’t even want to eat the duck fat fries that came with it.
It was my first time trying the bro’kin yolk. I ordered the short rib hash. Food was okay, but service was amazing. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive despite how busy the place was. Probably wouldn’t be my first choice for breakfast but wouldn’t mind trying it again
My GF and I decided to go here and see what the hype was all about. It was a big mistake and will never go here again. If your a breakfast lover and want to pay high end prices for a few simple breakfast items opposed to a decent dinner and supper elsewhere, than this may be your place. I can understand this place claims to be high end but in my opinion, it’s not. Why would i pay over 15$ for 3 eggs and few pieces of bacon, a few thin slices of sausage, toast, and deep fried potatoes as hash browns…..you heard me…..deep fried! How healthy is that? They claim to use duck fat but omg…is that healthy? The waffles are overpriced as well…you can pay 15$ for a round waffle loaded with sugar and whipped cream. Honestly, you can get this anywhere. I’m not a hater of these types of restaurants, I believe I am a realist and represent the hard working blue collar person that expects prices to be fair with value being the key. I just want people to understand that you spend over 40$ per couple for a breakfast with a coffee or drink….what do you get? Breakfast….exactly. For this type of price, I can buy a nice steak sandwich with fixings and salad all day long. Why would i want a sugar injected waffle and 3 eggs with deep fried potatoes. Props to them for trying to start a trend, and making the place seem fancy and high end. it’s not for me, it’s for the suckers and Yuppies that don’t realize the value of a buck. Just being honest folks, go there and spend your money and think of all the other delicious foods you can eat for the same value…..all you can eat sushi , korean grills and just plain delicious steak and potatoes restaurants in the city that have better value. Goto Smitty’s and save a few bucks and have a kick-A$$ meal in the evening with the money you save!!
I go here almost every weekend. Its a quaint place with great food and friendly staff. The food is fresh, local and delicious! Open face avocado sandwich is my go to but I also recommend the chicken and waffles and the bacon Benny.
Everyone is extremely friendly and it’s always a pleasure to eat here. I always suggest to use their wait list system as the wait can be quite long especially during the weekend! Bacon is different than usual but it’s sooooo good!
This place is overrated. Its expensive and it sucks. I ordered the truffle, ham and mushroom breakfast poutine and it was ok at best. The potatoes were soggy, the mushrooms were sour tasting and they were really stingy on the ham. Ordered mini waffles with Nutella, the waffles were ok but why is the nutella watered down and runny….. how do I spread that on my waffle? There are too many good places in the city to be having just a mediocre breakfast here.
This breakfast was ah-mazing!! You must try the truffle mushroom breakfast poutine! It was to die for. Very good quality eggs, extremely friendly fast service. Killer job!
