Really friendly staff ! Great service too! The portions were huge and they have great specials (adding soup, spring roll, or getting items for free). We ordered the grilled short rib, shredded pork vermicelli. The grilled short rib was incredible !! The spring roll was large and had a lot of flavor. I will definitely want to go back and try more !!! I ordered a small side tom yum soup- it was decent but oddly reminded me of minestrone soup (it definitely needed some coconut milk) – I wouldn’t order it again.
Pretty good place. Got the beef ball soup. Good. My husband got the rare beef says he said it was really spicy but good. I got the iced coffee with condensed milk. So good!! Will probably be back. It’s a good side chick when my main pho place is too far. Hehe
Tried this place for pickup today despite reading a number of negative reviews attached to it – I should have heeded. I ordered the seafood and veggie stir fry on crispy noodles (bird’s nest), with chicken instead of seafood and the verdict, horrible. The chicken was so dry, that the city could throw bucket loads of it into the bow river to eliminate overland flooding waters the next time there’s a flood – the water would magically disappear. The veggies were overcooked and mushy, and perhaps worst of all, the sauce was broken (it resembled egg drop soup). No wait, the real worst part was that we paid $14 for it. #facepalm. When you step into the restaurant, it’s akin to stepping back into the 70s. The owners somehow managed to make a relatively new building look like it was decades old – that’s some special interior decor right there. Wow. My wife’s sate chicken peanut pho was good, very spicy, but good. Don’t think I’ll go again.
Tried this restaurant today for lunch, taste is decent, service is fast and friendly. Just wished that there was a little more flavour in the broth but they have really good lunch deals. The salad rolls were very good.
Huge portions and they have a nice and spicy sate broth. Great promotion on soup noodles – buy two get one free! Enjoyed our lunch here, happy to find a good place so close to us! Will go back to try their viet subs too which also have a special for buy three get one free! mrandmrsgillies.com
The service was quick and the food was delicious! The Shrimp Satay was slightly sweet and the broth was thicker than most places and I loved it! The portions were reasonable for their prices and the staff were friendly from beginning to end.
Started out good, going downhill. When this place first opened the pho was great. Strong bold beef flavour. It was probably one of my favourite pho places at the time. The last 2-3 times the pho has become more bland, and the flavour just wasn’t great anymore. Will start going back to Pho Thanh on 64th ave til the reviews get better.
