OMG yum!!!! This little stand in the Kingsland Farmer’s market is a hidden secret(at least for us downtowners)-it’s well worth the drive, I assure you! For $11 you can get a large lunchbox with your choice of 3 curries/dishes. I got the butter chicken, vegetarian curry, and a cauliflower/potato mixed curry. The chicken was large, tender, and generous, and the helpings of basmati rice soaked up any sauce so you don’t miss a drop. There was enough left over to feed my husband when he got home too! bighairandhighheels.com
Best Indian food in Calgary. So good every time, consistently delicious! Meat is tender and spices are so well balanced. A delightful experience!Highly reccomend.
Excellent take home Indian food. Fresh, and made with good ingredients. The chicken biryani is delicious with big chunks of tender chicken and great flavour. I know a lot of people love the butter chicken, but to my taste it needed more spice/flavour. The muttar paneer and chana masala are a bit watery, but the lamb vindaloo is fantastic and really spicy. They always have a nice selection of fresh breads: the spicy roti are especially good. Most important, for me, is that they don’t use any artificial ingredients or common allergens (including nuts) — this is a big plus. A $10 container serves two of us if we have rice and bread with it, so the price is really good too.
Really fresh authentic Indian!!! Yummy yummy! Perfectly spiced beef vindaloo. Always a treat!
High quality food. Low price! In my opinion anyone who says otherwise is simply arrogant! Great eat.Favourite dish: Butter Chicken!
Dishonest Vendor. I used to buy their food every time I went to Kingsland. The first time I ordered something to go the owner told me a meet dish is $10 and veggies $8. I trusted him so didn’t bother to look at their menu board. Since then I’ve been getting a few containers each time until I found out recently they have larger containers for takeouts. It’s twice the amount of the small container and $2 cheaper than buying 2 small containers. I’m disappointed the owner never told me that and kept charging me more. This is not the right way to treat your customers. I’m not sure if their business will go far but I know I will not go back again.
I Love A Touch of India. I really do love A Touch of India… I know i’m just being the standard White Guy when I say the Butter Chicken is fabulous but it really is and I don’t care how White I am. But really everything here is delicious. I’ve never had anything I didn’t like. The Samosas are addictive! I have them at least once a week.
