Bought the nine dollar meal had to search for the chicken. There was half a wing a drumstick that looked more like a drumlet and a piece that really couldnt be identified all way way overcooked. The gravy was completely tasteless and the fries….. lets just say hoping to go and get it fresh was useless. Dont waste your money. I feel sorry for the girl at the counter having to sell this garbage.
Worst service EVER!!. Ive lived in calgary my entire life and Chicken on the way has awesome chicken and fritters but when ever since they franchised out the service has gone downhill …. I went to the Macleod store there were 2 asian gals behind the counter one tapping away on her cell phone and the other just standing there …. no greeting at all …so i walk upto the counter place my order but since a friend does not like white meat i asked to have dark meet well thats just waaaay to much to ask she lets out a huuuuge huff …. i ask if i can get 2 wings a drum stick and a thigh yet again this of course is devastating to her she lets out another huff and starts tapping the menu screen like it owes her money …i simply say forget it and walked out . NEVER have i had such horrible service and NEVER again will i goto or even suggest anyone to go there !!
DO NOT EVEN BOTHER. Awful, awful service. I’ve always loved chicken on the way and was so happy that there was one at southland, the chicken and fries seemed old and fries was saggy. But then again maybe it was just today. So one night I called and ask if they do delivery and they said they do, but i guess none of the staff or whoever was in charge knows exactly how things should be done. I was put on hold for 10 minutes and the lady i charge was mean and unapologetic. If you care about service and the food you eat, i suggest this is not the place for you. I STILL LOVE CHIKEN ON THE WAY BUT NEVER WILL I COME BACK TO THIS BRANCH!
I’m sure nothing beats homemade fried chicken like my grandma used to make, but this is the best stuff I have tried in Calgary. The meat is firm and juicy, you can tell its good quality. The skin is crispy and good, maybe a tad greasy for some but hello it is FRIED chicken. Miles ahead of the garbage you get at KFC or the like. Fries are very tasty in my opinion and they give you a good portion. I love the corn fritters, although I can’t eat too many. Recently tried the coleslaw and it was very good. I’m pregnant and had a craving for something tart and tangy. It hit the spot. Again miles ahead of the mushy garbage you will get at KFC for double the price. The prices are fair here. I would recommend if you have a hankering for decent fried chicken and sides.
Don’t waste your time. I called chicken on the way excited that they did delivery an hour later they call me informing me that not only had the driver not even left yet they hadn’t even cooked my meal yet and more than likely forgot about me. needless to say i will never call them again
This location is the worst.. I enjoy the chicken at the other locations considerably more than I do at the new location on MacLeod Trail. The chicken at this location does not taste as good, and I noticed the fries are also not as good.
