Way too many good chinese places in Calgary, no need to put myself through that again. Miss you Lily…….
Don’t go. Just finished one of the greasiest meal of Chinese. It was very overpriced, awful food. So gross. The service is ok but the place was empty. If you used to go here, it’s not even as good as it was 6 months ago…it’s worse.
New ownership. The servers with previous management were very robotic, which can be off putting those looking for a warm and fake service to make them feel good at a restaurant: the food used to be gold. The change in management has also seen a change in how the food (although similar lunch buffet items) is prepared. Will not go back.
Gone downhill. Sadly this family owned and operated establishment has been sold. My family has been loyal to Leo Fu for 25 yrs and now it is time to find a new place. We have given the new owners 3 tries and the food is terrible. Bland and greasy. The dough on the pan fried dumplings is so thick i want to gag. The service is also horribly slow. Will never go back.
One of the worst food experiences I’ve ever had. Had a reservation and didn’t get food until 2 hours after sitting. Took 45 minutes to get lukewarm wonton soup. Salt and pepper squid was absolutely brutal, the breading was like a paste and very mushy. Shanghai noodles were burnt. Ginger beef was very cold and very soggy. Drink was empty the whole time. Saw about 5 tables get up and leave. Really just an awful experience all around. And when we left they didn’t even want to compliment any of the horrible food but instead just offered more bad food from the people who walked put on their dishes. A lot of people there last night that won’t be coming back.
Family Favorite, just good old Chinese food. Nothing gourmet but straight up Chinese food. Come in with jeans, shirt and a baseball cap because you will smell like Chinese food when you leave. That’s the way it should be. Not something I would eat weekly but bi-weekly for sure. I consider the ginger beef the best in town and the dumplings are made in house. My son can eat a whole large plate to himself. As for the Chinese waitresses, you have to under stand that most Chinese (most regions of China) are very blunt and to the point. If you want great super polite customer service, go to a 5 star hotel where you will pay for that service. Fried banana’s with ice cream for dessert is a nice treat, if you can fit them in…. My kids always can.
Tasteless food – don’t waste your time coming here unless you know what the hit dish is. Ordered the General Tao/ Tso as it seems like this is one of the only places where you can get this + according to reviews this IS THE PLACE to get this dish in YYC. That’s wrong! totally tasteless, no flavours & not spicy. Same thing goes for the chicken fried rice & spring rolls…Worst part is, they forgot to apply the 10% discount on take out …paying a dime to much for this is brutal!
