My boyfriend and I have decided that we are going all over Calgary to see who has the best steak sandwich, we decided to check out Peanuts. The atmosphere was pleasant, our server was friendly and attentive. Our meals came out super fast and were REALLY good! Definitely the front runner thus far. Will be back!
This is an enigma in Carriage House — which is excellent all the way around — they renovated and it’s lost a bit of vibe. But you go for the steak Sammie. It’s the only reason to go.
Awesome pub inside the carriage house hotel, I had only been once and the next time I came in the bartender actually remembered me from the previous time which is always impressive, they have a great beer selection and the steak sandwich is yummy and they have the best carder salad ever !
I have been to both the old and newly renovated Peanuts. As most people say, the old Peanuts is sorely missed. The food was always good, the atmosphere of a true sports bar and the prices were fair. The new Peanuts is still a good place to eat, drink and watch sports. The staff has changed slightly but still maintain good service. I come to Peanuts most Mondays during football season for MNF. Our waitress is one of the best and always treats us like we are the only ones there. Since the renovation the prices have gone up a bit but the food is still excellent. I will continue to frequent Peanuts as long as they treat us well.
Oh man, what did they do? I used to love coming to this place for the old school atmosphere, the shelled peanuts, and the best priced steak sandwich in Calgary. Its all changed! The steak sandwich has increased in price and if you liked those awesome thick cut fries they used to serve with it they charge you extra for them now! They now give you shoestring fries at the higher menu price which I didn’t care for.. It wasn’t that the price is bad, its still fair or that the food is bad. Its just that they took away all the things I really liked about this place. My gf and I heard the exact same comments from the two tables on both sides of us. Some people will say the change is good, I personally miss the old nostalgic dive that it was. It will be difficult to justify driving out of my way to go here now.
Sat at the bar.Had the truffle fries. They were oily and tasted dirty.My cousin tried to fluff it up by calling it earthy.Not a fan.Drinks were fabulous.I’ll be back. It’s within stumbling distance from my house.
Best restaurant in Calgary. Food is too notch. Service is friendly and fast. Desserts are out of this world. Service is slightly slow when in large groups-but that’s to be expected.
