Calgary’s original Cowtown Bar. Think Travolta in Gilleys. The food isn’t anything to write home about unless you actually enjoy grey oversteamed cow on a dry bun with sickly sweet sauce, but it’s a piss up, especially at Stampede which makes it a cultural must see.
wenthere last Thursday night. music was good but it wasdead! maybe 20 people around midnight. the staff were nice enough, looked bored though.
Went there for The Marshall burger since it was Burger Festival. It was in house patty with cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato fried onion petals Chipotle mayo topped with a fried pickle spear. They had generous portion of crispy fries. It was super dark and really loud. The burger was quite fresh and tasty
Ranchman’s is a bit of an institution in Calgary. Definitely worth a visit if you’re a tourist (or even a local). It’s a big ol’ fashioned country dancehall. If you’re going to go for food, go early, as in the evening it is a very busy bar. We recently ate here and were pleasantly surprised. The nachos came out loaded with toppings and were done excellently. We also got a platter of wings and ribs which weren’t too bad as well. The service was pretty decent, considering how busy it was. Come later in the night and you’ll see some good live country music as will as some line dancing. Worth a visit. Give the mechanical bull a try too!
It’s a bar. Stick to the bottled beer (ask for your beer from the back of the fridge, or it will be warm). Dancing is great. Fun place to unwind and drink (not eat). 🙂
This is my type of place where I can kick my boots on the table and enjoy a cold one and down some good country food! Then after I am done head to the dance floor and enjoy some 2 stepping the rest of the night with the daisy dukes that frequent this place. Yahoo!!!!
Like to Dance. Went to the Ranchmen’s last Friday and had a great time and our waitress was very good. We had a small problem and the Manager was called over. Her name was Rae and she was amazing. Very professional, friendly and solved our problem immediately. Was so impressed by how she spoke so politely to her staff and how efficient she was. I will certainly return to this club again. Great to get that kind of service. Congratulations Ranchmens.
