Very good sushi, absolutely worth a visit. They have some more modern Japanese tapas and sushi which is nice. Bit pricey but most good sushi is in Calgary.
A very large and basically empty restaurant was my first impression. I was greeted by a friendly hostess who showed my to a table with a bizarre mix of nuts, dried seaweed, and kimchi to snack on. For lunch I had sashimi which was ok. I didnt like how warm and thickly sliced the salmon was but I did enjoy the tako. Of course I had to try the beef tataki which was honestly the worst Ive ever had. The beef was not sliced properly and I couldnt tell if it had been marinated or not as the sauce was so tangy/ sour that I almost couldnt finish the dish. It was awful!! The best thing I ordered was sadly the avocado roll. It had a very generous amount of avocado in it for the price. I definitely wont be back as there are so many great sushi options in Calgary.
Awesome service once again. Thanks Sho Sushi. The tiger roll was amazing, tried the dynamite roll as well and it was also great. Will continue to come back. Love that you can order online and pick it up as well.
It’s a nice place a little bit expensive but the quality it’s very good. The rolls are nice but the size it’s small compared with other places but still the food was good.
One of the better overall Japanese restaurants in Calgary. The sushi is above par even if the more modern iterations are too saucy.The appetizers and hot dishes aren’t very ambitious but are still quite nice. Prices are average and not crazy, service is also worth mentioning!I’d probably come here often if they didn’t take my favorite nigiri off the menu (Amaebi)
Visited Sho with my boyfriend for dinner (been here a couple times before) – it was busy as usual. We were seated within a reasonable time and the service was friendly! Love the ambiance of the restaurant – very nice decor and pretty fancy for a sushi restaurant!The waiter served us a complimentary appetizer which included roasted peanuts, dried seaweed and kimchi to snack on while we decided on food (very nice touch). Lots of variety on the menu as well! The food was delicious and the sushi was fresh (though it’s a little pricy). Some of the highlights were the ‘Seared Salmon’, ‘Seared Grilled Roll’, ‘Fire Dragon Roll’ (literally on fire) and the ‘Beef Udon Soup’. The rolls were good (a little tiny but had good flavor). The udon was unlike any other I’ve had – SO GOOD! The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles were high quality and the beef was so tender! At the end of our meal, they gave us complimentary frozen grapes on a skewer which were also very nice! Would recommend Sho if you’re in the south looking for a good sushi place!
Had a wonderful lunch here the other day, loved how our sashimi came on shaved iced and the nice touch of frozen grapes with the bill was like a popsicle. Service was also great
