This place is incredible, ribs, brisket and all the sides are top notch. Sauces to melt your face or just be nice.A must hit, never thought I’d say this but wish I lived closer to Nisku because of this place
Friendly staff in this casual diner gave us a quick overview of what was available and explained how they can get you in and out quickly if you’re on your lunch hour. The brisket and pulled pork were both delicious with a just-right smoky taste. The Cookshack offers several other meats, a variety of sides, and even plenty of choices for the gluten-intolerant diner. Their side sauces are made in house and you can sample them all from the well-labeled bottles at the side of the restaurant. My husband thinks this is the best BBQ in the Edmonton area, and we certainly plan to go back again soon.
Just came in for lunch as I haven’t been in Nisku in a while. I gotta say these girls rock. Faster than fast food but you get the real deal. Nice smoke flavour and tender meats. I’ll be back, maybe even tomorrow. Keep Smokin’
Real bbq!. OK so second time here, and we’ll the food. All I can really say is finally a place in nisku that I can dine in or take out with good food for a decent price, so far all I’ve had so far is the pulled pork but it reminds me of the places I’d east at in the southern states, good food, good value and leave with a full stomach
Real deal BBQ. These girls do an excellent job. The pulled pork is flavorful and tender and the brisket is top notch melt in your mouth awesome. The food and service are first rate and the atmosphere is just what it should be for a BBQ joint. A true gem in Nisku. Check it out.
A hidden gem!. One of the best places to go to if you’re craving a small bite to go. I find myself coming here quite often during my lunch breaks.The slow roasted pulled pork literately melts in your mouth after a couple bites. The staff is always well mannered and friendly. And the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. Come by and try it, you won’t regret it!
Damn good Q!. Had the pleasure of dropping by for lunch today. Now THIS is real BBQ. Pulled pork among the best I ever ate, ribs were tops, brisket was delicious. I had the 3-meat, my wife had the two-meat. Beans tasted great. But the Pulled-Pork was unbelieveable. All smoked in-house, homemade sauces to choose from, and a great atmosphere. The staff were fantastic, helpful, and ahem, very easy to look at. Never got the owners name (yet), but you could tell he was proud of his work. As well he should be. This will now be a regular stop every week. Try these guys. Forget the chain-restaurants, these guys are for real. Best Q since I was in Tennessee, and these guys could give any BBQ anywhere a run for their money. We were the first customers of the day, and the restaurant started filling fast. I wish the staff and owner all the luck in the world. We just loved it! Try these guys. They are located just East of the Hwy 2 interchange on Nisku 625. Bring an appetite, ’cause like I said, these guys are for real.One drawback. I thought I made good BBQ, but I have been terribly humbled. Back to the drawing board for me … Oh yeah, I think they are only open for lunch, so call ahead, y’hear?
