  Worst Service & Steak Ever. My boyfriend and I came into Ric’s for dinner but they were fully booked due to reservations so we were sent down to The Mix. There was two other tables in the restaurant so the service should have been close to perfect. Almost 10-15 minutes after we placed our drink order the server came back to tell us they were out of the wine I ordered, I picked a different one and then it was another 10 minutes for those drinks. We didn’t see our server again until our food came out a half hour later. The plates were blistering hot which means our food sat under the lamps for a long time and my steak was very well done when I asked for medium. The vegetables tasted like they were old and microwaved. I have never written a review or even complained in a restaurant before but I felt this needed to be posted.It was our first and last visit to The Mix & Ric’s. Highly disappointed.

  Mediocre as usual.. Great atmosphere, and nice location and views. The appetizers have always been great, as have lunches in the restaurant. But service is a problem. And despite pretty good appies, I have yet to have a good dinner. Either cold.. or sat under a heat lamp… or fish or steak overcooked… meh. too many other good options in the city than to pay for an overcooked rubbery lobster tail.. or rubbery heat-lamped pasta. Tonite, friends took us out to dinner, and this was where they wanted to go. Super friendly waiter, but he was noticibly absent througout. It wasnt so busy to excuse this, and there were plenty of staff around. We waited for drinks constantly. we had to have someone go to the bar to order drinks or even get refills of water. Noticed other patrons suffering of lack of wait service as well. Had to wait over 30 minutes to get coffee after dinner. Wobbly table, dirty walls, no wine menu until after a long while when we were finally served, i had to request one. My dinner menu was gross. It had some kind of food (i hope) smeared around the inside of it (with orange chunks), with other greasy smudges all over the outside cover. gross! One woudl hope that these things are looked at by staff. Once again, tonite my appies were good.. entree .. mediocre. I ordered the scallop risotto. My scallops were overcooked, and the wild mushrooms in teh sauce were almost unpalatable. they were clearly dried mushrooms, but were not properly re-hydrated before serving. It also had clearly sat under a heat lamp; top dried out and hot.. inside quite cool. I ordered a desert that was described as a Ginger Cake with a toffee sauce and ice cream. I got a cake that looked like dark chocolate, and tasted like the darkest molasses. not a hint of ginger flavour at all. not at ALL. No such thing as a toffee sauce anywhere on teh plate. I think that might have been my last dinner at Ric’s. too many other good options in the city that can do a grill properly. will definately return for appies though.

  Great!. If anything, my only complaint would be the prices. Service is great. I have dealt with them on a managerial level several times, since my school’s club likes to hold events at their establishment, and they are nothing but accommodating. Excellent selection of alcohol and food, and the atmosphere is great.

  Still nothing to look forward to. No different from the restaurant Ric’s Grill. Still have gone way down hill. Thought I’d try again and it was nothing new. New decor will not change the bad service and food.
