I would have rated 4.5 if I could based on the shrimp Okonomiyaki I ordered, a kind of Japanese pizza. It was enough for me as I am not a big eater. I…

I ordered tempra udon and some nigiri sushi on one very cold holiday. I was the only one in the restaurant.Udon with bits of tempura batter topping is somewhat sweet, which fell in my favorite. I finished almost all the soup. Tempra includes two pc of shrimp and few pc of vegetable. At first I thought was very little amount, but I realized it was right amount to enjoy udon, and sushi together. Sushi were fresh and yummy. Overall, I was quite satisfied with their food. However, unfortunately, the lack of tidiness and cleanness bring down the quality of this restaurant. If I work there, I will sacrifice one day to clean the air duct, scrub off the mold on window, organize some staff around kitchen, change the folding screen to some other design, take down few decors (too many!), and select and level the frames on the wall. I like the individual items in the restaurant, such as vivit wall colors, the various designed table cloths, or tea pot and tea cups. BUT, it look way toooo busy when they all comes together!!The lady who served me was very nice, but the man who prepared our food, were watching TV after his work was done. He never turned back to me when I was standing 2m behind him paying for my meal. I felt little sad.I like food, so I’d like to go again, but it’s not a place I want to bring my husband/friends/co-workers.
I only just recently noticed this place. Walking in, it felt like a fairly typical mom and pop shop. Nothing fancy, pretty basic. The folks whom I presume to be the proprietors were very nice. It was cold out so I opted for udon. I picked the nabeyaki udon mostly cos I was wanting some vegetable content. I also ordered a negi toro roll. The udon was ginormous. It came out in a clay pit and as I dug into it I discovered all sorts of treasures beneath the surface. Clams, mussels, squid, octopus, shiitake mushrooms, kombu, egg, enoki mushrooms, shrimp, spinach, it was chock full of good stuff. Well worth the price tag. The food reminded me a lot of home cooking. Comfort food if you will. I definitely enjoyed my visit and would happily go back.
Super cute family business! The food was delicious, and it came within a reasonable time. The service was great; the chef came out to ask us what we thought of the food. Will definitely come back!
This is not a ramen place, it has only 1 kind of ramen and it tastes like koren kimchi ramen. Also had assorted sashimi and oyako don, both were subpar. For 55 bucks, i give it a 2.5, if you are looking for cheap stuff, this is for you. But a mere 10-15 dollars more you can get something way more decent.
What an awesome little mom and pop shop. It’s so nice to support local business. Their menu was extensive and the prices were reasonable. The lady who took our order was super friendly I think she was the owner since it looked like it was a family restaurant where the wife manages the front and the husband is the cook. Food came out fast and we enjoyed everything. We got an order of beef taki udon and it came out on a sizzling plate. It was delicious and flavorful. The BC roll was super crunchy with salmon skin and unagi sauce. When we went up to pay we looked into the kitchen and was surprised to see a regular stove that you see at home. I was really impressed with this place and think this will become our regular spot from now on.
EXCELLENT VALUE! Their beef tataki is BY FAR the best in Calagary. They do a pretty good marinade of sour, spicy and zing. The spinach is a nice twist and only $9.99! Other food is average but their prices are really LOW!
One of my favourite places to go in Calgary. The chirashidon, chicken udon, Zaria soba, and beef tataki is imo the best in Calgary. I know the other ratings are lower for this place but try these items and you will not be disappointed.
