Delicious and fresh, Korean Village Restaurant is definitely one of my favorite places for Korean food in the city. The prices are very reasonable, but don’t come here expecting a quick meal — there can be a wait for a table if you get there later in the evening, and the food can take a while to prepare depending on what you order. The fried chicken entree comes wicked hot and very spicy!! The chicken was well cooked with a crispy outside, and the sauce was very good. It was definitely plenty of food for two people. I would highly recommend ordering rice and side dishes to go with it.Their dumplings are also amazing. Filled with a mixture of pork and beef and then deep fried, the meat stays juicy and the dipping sauce is loaded with flavour. Another favourite is the kimchi jjigae, which is a kimchi stew with onion, tofu, and sliced pork. Don’t approach lightly, as this dish is wicked spicy. Beyond the heat, it’s packed with flavor and is a perfect bowl for a cold winter day. Personally, I’ll enjoy kimchi jjigae any day of the year! The owner is very friendly and has a good sense of humor. I can’t wait for my future trips so that I can try all the other dishes they have to offer. Stop in here for lunch or dinner between trips to Arirang Foods and Korean Bakery next door.
My go to for Korean. Their stonebowls are decent and service is always great. The two things I dislike are the greasy seafood pancakes and the lack of circulation in the restaurant. Other than those Id highly recommend Korean Village.
