Visited here couple of times. The first time was for a take-out. I ordered lamb biryani. The taste and quantity was good, had good amount of meat. The raita was okay-ish. The second time, went with couple of friends and we opted for buffet. The buffet was okay. The options were beef korma, chicken vindaloo, chick pea curry and dal along with rice and naan. Nothing that makes you wanna go back. May be al-carte menu would be a better option at this restaurant. Food – 3/5 (+1 for biryani)Service – 4/5Ambience – 4/5Money – 2.5/5
Best Indian food I’ve ever had! Friendliest service too. I’ve tried multiple dishes here, and I’ve yet to find something I don’t completely love. The chef can make your dish as spicy or as tame as you’d like, too. So if you like fantastic food, a nice atmosphere, and helping small, local businesses, then this is the place for you!
don’t often write reviews. And I also don’t often rub my belly after a meal. But when the meal is as good as the one I had tonight, it is worthy of both a review and a belly rub. My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice cozy place for dinner and decided on Masala Mantra after driving by. We live in Sunalta so it is a hop and skip away. But let me tell you!First of all the atmosphere inside was lovely! Felt very authentic and the music was very relaxing and appropriate for the setting. The plates all came nice and warm, which was a nice treat on a cold -25 winter evening. And the wine was delicious, and for a great price.Our server Monica was delightful. She was perfect in her service. I have bartended for five years, and am quite particular when it comes to being served and have high expectations when going out to spend my hard earned money. She was there exactly when we needed her, was not pushing anything on us, and was genuinely thankful to accept our praise. She also made a couple fantastic suggestions.Most importantly, the food was fantastic. Thank you Chef Kumar. I have had Tandoori Grill. I have tried to make my own curry at home. I have never, in my life, had Indian food as good as Mantra Masala tonight. I can assure you that we will be back, and I hope anyone who is reading this will give Masala Mantra a shot. Been here for dinner a number of times. I really enjoy the food, and the lady who served us is very friendly. My favourite dish is the vegetable samosas. Delicious, baseball sized goodness. I dream of it sometimes…Other dishes I have enjoyed are there lamb curry, lamb biryani, vegetable biryani, and the chicken jalfrezi.
Went to a buffet here and was not too crazy about it. Everything was just Ok, nothing special. The usual dishes but the nan was soggy. Would not go back.
I am a visitor from Winnipeg, so I was unaware of good eateries. … But finally I found a Good, Authentic Indian Food Spot in Calgary…. They offer delicious food with warm & sincere service…. Huge shout out for the amazing Butter Chicken and Stuffed Naan
If you want amazing Indian food, with phenomenal customer service you have got to try masala mantra! The prices are great and the service is exceptional. The staff goes out of there way to ensure you’ve had an enjoyable time. There’s no place better!!
