Yummy and awesome shisha. This is my 1st review EVER. I swear. This place though I do not like the setting and decor but the FOOD OH MY LORD!! that chicken sandwich I ate is HEAVENLY YUMMY. The family who works their are SO sweet and very welcoming. I honestly lovvvvvvvved their service and their way to make you feel like home. Very friendly and sweet. Their shisha is the best in Calgary. Is it the best world wide no? I still think calgary is behind in shisha business however, their shisha is good and they have these ice pipes which makes the shisha taste SO good. They started it first in calgary now i am seeing other shisha bars started to offer it too.I only wish that they have a comfortable setting. They have tables like a restaurant and i do not like that, i want a comfy seats like those we usually see at shisha bars. But overall they are the best in their offers when it comes to shisha, food and warm friendly services. I love them. I went twice and I feel like hugging those who work there. i love their amazing sweetness. Must try at least once.Looking forward to see them with a comfy setting to make it more popular. I went there today i did not know they close on sundays boo-hoo 🙁

Excellent Lebanese. One of the top 3 Middle Eastern eateries in the city. The food is always fresh and delicious, the place is always clean, and the staff (owners) are excellent. If you are looking for lunch (shish/shwar) go no further, it is not the classic greasy Donair other places serve; but one that is crisp and fresh. The other menu items are excellent as well. I can highly recommend their tabooli salad (unusual in that it contains almost no grain), as it is one of the best I have tried. If you are around the uptown 17th area, this is a must go.

Good food, terrible value.. Stopped by after reading another review which mentioned that Sobys was on par with Aida’s Bistro, one of my favourite restaurants. THIS IS NOT TRUE. I ordered the Combo platter, which came with grape leaves, fatayer (spinach), choice of salad (fattoush) and hummus. I asked for extra grape leaves and still the meal was not filling. For $13 at lunch, it really should have been. While the food was good enough, the portions were small, if not embarrassing considering that they barely even filled a third of the take-out container which they came in. I realize that this establishment is a little more fast food than Aida’s, but that doesn’t mean they can get away with serving tiny portions for only a few dollars less. Overall, unfortunately, I will not be back to this restaurant and will instead stick to Aida’s where the portion sizes are fair and the food is many times better.

That Baba Ganoush Though…. I used to always go to Soby’s as a kid with my Dad when he was located by Bernard Callebaut. I always got the chicken shawarma and happily it hasn’t changed. It is a DIFFERENT shawarma then what you find in town. Cedars Deli make a very good chicken shawarma. I love it but this one just has a far superior taste for less ingredients and a good price. My sister and I ordered two chicken Shawarmas, 4 vine leaves (he serves them warm, I’m not used to that! And it was great!) and an order of Baba Ganoush and Pita and paid 30 dollars. We were full wow.The Baba Ganoush is fantastic make sure you try it if you go.It’ll alone keep you coming back.If you are looking for a simple cheap option for a great sandwich go to Soby’s. I may be a bit nostalgic (So happy he is back serving great food) but I really love that Shawarma because it tastes unique compared to every other run of the mill Shawarma joint.YUM!

The worst shawarma ever. My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant. I thought I was safe ordering a shawarma, but couldn’t have been more wrong. What came out of the kitchen at record speed was a very dry meat . And my boyfriend’s food was just bad test homous dish and and overcooked vine leaves. We left almost all of our food on our plates.

Very clean and food OK. This place is very clean, and you can tell especially if you visit the bathroom to see how clean it is! The food is decent enough although I don’t crave it, huge portion at a very reasonable price.
