Everything here was just alright. It’s worth noting that the prices they have listed on their website don’t match their current menu. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger, and it literally came with just that, and an abundance of mayo. I substituted yam fries ($2), and had to pay an extra $2 for a chipotle aioli as it came with no dip. My boyfriend got a philly cheesesteak, which was alright, but cost and extra $4 to change the beef dip into a cheesesteak, and didn’t have very much in it. This place probably would have gotten a higher rating if they still had their old prices. The service and dcor was pretty standard fora dive bar, but the food just wasn’t that good, andfor the same price (~$14 each)you can get better food elsewhere.
Went to watchman’s tonight because a friend wanted to try their suicide wings. Everything was ok until I received my food. I ordered a taco salad with just lettuce, beef and cheese, didn’t even think about sauces but it doesn’t normally come with one so I thought I was good. When I got my food there was sauce on my food and the cup of whatever they served with it was tipped and in the bowl. as the manager put my food down sauce went all over my food I asked nicely if it could be remade and the supposed manager said he had to check with the owner.Seriously if your a manager and there’s a mistake with food you take it away and say right away sorry for that. Instead I got a rude answer of Ill check with the owner and aggression he didn’t even take away the first taco salad. When he came back he was rude, aggressive and had a very bad attitude. At my store if a member of staff talks that way to a customer they get an automatic discipline. Then he came back and said I didn’t ask the server for no sauce and made a big deal about that, he went and grabbed the remade food which I didn’t want at that point because he had completely ruined my appetite with his attitude. Then proceeded to kick me, my boyfriend and my 3 friends out and 3 of us were drinking so if the manger had handled the situation better with no attitude and aggression we might have stayed longer and had more drinks making watchman’s more money. As a manager you need to show better customer service to customers and not call them jerks when you make a mistake just own up to it say sorry and lets move on. I will never go back and will be filing a complaint with the owner because that manager should be fired for treating customers the way he does.
Used to be a decent place, but they no longer serve balloons and the food had definitely gone down hill, it is really cheap though so u guess you can’t expect too much.There is also often a terrible band or DJ in the corner playing music that is just way too loud for such a small place.
This place is pleasantly surprising. They have an $7.95 menu, and the food is quite good. Don’t expect anything fancy, but it more than delivers for the price. The service was really good too. It’s definitely a dive bar, but still worth checking out if you want a cheap meal and a few drinks. They have a juke box as well as some arcade and gambling games.
positve i thought the place and food is up and coming. it is what it is. good place to go have a few beers , learn to music or play VLTS, its comfortable like the Ship. if you dont like people ,STAY HOME, live music on thursday nite, the bartener pretty cool w/ the one liners. Enjoy the day
Disappointed…. Had a friend take us to the Watchman’s Pub last night, as it was a place he and his friends used to hang out in, and he had fond memories. Have to say, was expecting better. It was wing Wednesday, but the place wasn’t busy. Our server really wasn’t pleasant and seemed overly stressed out, even with very few tables. Forgot to bring lime with a bottle of Corona as was requested, and then brought it over in her fingers (Ewwwwww!). Slim selection of wing flavours and most are uninspired. I know, wings are wings, man, but there are better out there (Mug Shotz, Toad and Turtle, Rose and Crown). And you could only order 1 batch of wings (10 pieces) per drink, per person. WTF? That has to be the weirdest rule, EVER. Don’t think I’ll be going back – there are too many other good places to hang my hat. Hope they get better!
Going Down Hill-fast!. Watchman’s used to be our Wednesday night hangout. They had the best wings in town! Now that the new owners have taken over we are seeing changes- and not the right changes. The servers don’t try and get to know you like the old servers did- the Manager/owner does not go around getting to know the regulars-like the last Manager did. When you have so many other pubs around you, you really need to keep up service. Sad we won’t be coming back.
