The Pho Sate looks and smells very good. The broth has a rich spicy peanut flavour; however it is very oily! Such a shame as this soup has great potential. They even had a generous amount of meat in it. The service is fast and the restaurant itself is clean. Not sure if I’ll be back or not though for their oily broth.
The worse broth I’ve had. All their food is way too sweet. We had one pho and one rice dish and they were both way too sweet. The broth for their pho is definitely not made with bone. I will never return to this restaurant again. We left with unfilled stomachs because we couldn’t finish the overly sweet food and ordered pizza next door at Papa Johns.
As previous reviewers stated the beef in my satay soup was white, the soup was generally a white color. Not the best I’ve had, not very spicy. The rice noodle bowl with beef and spring rolls was very good!
Best satay soup in Calgary. I used to go to this restaurant when it was over by Deerfoot mall but it closed there. It re-opened in the Westwinds area and it’s as good as ever. The food they offer is amongst the best family run Vietnamese restaurants I have ever been to. I live in Airdrie and we drive all the way to Westwinds now just for our weekly Vietnamese fix. The restaurant itself is really nice – I think it used to be the Original Joe’s location. The staff is all family and they are very friendly and accommodating, you can tell they take pride in their restaurant. I would highly recommend.
Disgusting take out. This place recently opened in my area so we got take-out. Disgusting vegetables that looked like they were from a frozen package (carrots had the crinkle lines) were suspended in some sort of corn starch water emulsion to keep hot for the crispy noodles which made them taste horrible. They had really sub-par meat and two out of four of our meals were overall gross. One of the people I was eating with did enjoy the salad rolls, however, they came with assembly required, the rice paper was in a package and was not even soaked. I do NOT recommend getting take out here, maybe their in-restaurant service is better.
Best Satay Soup in the World. Peanutty, spicy and simply delicious.I have.never had better satay soup even in Vietnam
I went to their new location last night, and was unimpressed. The service was awful. We weren’t asked if we wanted anything to drink, and no one came by to check how the food was. The restaurant was empty, and all the employees were standing behind the counter chatting. The food was mediocre, I won’t be going back.
