Hubby and I go once a week. They are always friendly and service is always good. They always check up on us to make sure we have enough food. Weve tried other hot pot restaurants before but the soup base is just not as good Asian Express. The all you can eat is always good if you are hungry, but if not after 9:30 the 5 item has great value.

Lunch Hot Pot with Rice Noodles, Lobster Ball, Tripe, Beef, Lamb and Fried Wonton, Ice creamSo there’s 2 locations in Edmonton of AEHP and I like the dt one the best. Lunch and late night price for 5 items is 14 bucks and if you look at all the stuff you get, it’s a cray deal. There’s so many options here that you can’t really go wrong with what you pick. I like some sort of red meat, love tripe and some random ball to throw into the satay soup. So good yo. The 14 dollar lunch come with ice cream as well. So dope. On this special day I got fried mantou for free too. It’s like a chinese timbit size thing you dip into condensed milk dip. The fried wonton was meh, but I was so hungry i couldn’t wait to eat while waiting for my meat to cook. Service was fast, friendly and had to shoutout to how big the water glasses were here. Rarity in an asian restaurant.Located just off 100st and 105 ave, it’s in a rough neighborhood. Don’t let it stop you from getting good eats though. I typically hate hotpot because paying roughly around 30 bucks to cook your own food is the dumbest thing to me. $14 for more meat than most pho places and ice cream. Good times! Lunch goes from 11 to 5pm too! Someone don’t tell management what typical lunch times are. If you don’t finish your broth, you have the option to take it home! Sip on some soup later on in the cold winter nights. So leave your jacket in the car and make whatever dipping sauce you like and enjoy hotpot on the cheap.Sal says: Just Try It (3.5/5)

If you have never had hot pot its basically Asian fondue. same principle anyways, you and some friends are huddled around a pot of boiling broth, you cook your food as you go. It’s all about dining at a leisurely pace, free range of eating and food cooked as fresh as it gets. in the categories of the actual dining, Asian express is as good as it gets. ingredients are fresh and fairly high quality, but more importantly, skies the limit for selection. There is seemingly endless variety, in the ingredients, the broths and the sauces available to the diner. I really can’t overstate the selection here, its actually crazy, and if you have ever wanted to try anything a bit on the unusual side but have never had the inclination to go out of your way for it or order it as your whole meal this place poses the opportunity to experiment without making a big commitment to the meal. so if you want to try out pig intestines for example, just toss it in there and if its not your cup of tea (or cup of intestines) then just stick with the other items you ordered. The only area that Asian express loses points with me over is the dining area. Ideally with something like this the social component is key, but the dining area is kind of tightly packed. There’s not the level of comfort you would want in a place if you intend on taking your time and enjoying the experience.Overall a very VERY good experience. I will be back.

This is by far the best hot pot restaurant chain as they have the freshest meats and vegetables and they dont compromise on the quality of food as other all you can eat places. They renovate and keep up to date you can really see the effort in their hard work.

One of the more older hot pot places in townthat have been around for a long time. Smaller place, but still good. Good variety and assortment on the menu, similar to most hotpot places. Good alternative for hotpot if you haven’t been.

We went here for my daughter’s birthday party dinner. One of the owners greeted and seated us. Realizing that we had not been to a hot pot restaurant before, he also became our guide. The menu is extensive and everyone should be able to find something that works for them. Three of us had a bit of a wait for our 3 younger guests to arrive so we ordered a few appetizers to tide us over: deep fried peanuts, spring rolls, deep-fried wontons and green onion cakes. They were delivered hot, fresh and fast. The one cold appetizer we ordered, garlic cucumbers, was addictive. Once the rest of the party arrived, it took us a bit of negotiating with the helpful staff for our two senior guests to get the idea of what you order and how you eat hot pot, but once we figured out which broth would work for each (one spicy and one adamantly not) it was fine. The rest of us ordered our broth choices, szechwan and curry. It’s important to note that each person gets their own soup pot to dip and cook their choices of food in. No communal pot of soup! The food comes out fast and you cook most things in the broth and optionally dip it in sauces from the large sauce bar. We had so many items it’s hard to list them all, octopus, beef, chicken, tofu, veggies, shrimp and fish balls, crispy bean curd sheets and on and on. The variety was what was so amazing. A particular favorite with the younger group were the golden buns dipped in condensed milk. The owner was wonderful, coming and checking, ordering us specialities to try, bringing us all special sauces and desserts at the end. The rest of the staff were fast, friendly and professional as well. Since I work nearby, the next visit will be for lunch with my friends and I am really looking forward to it. Highly recommended!
