We found ourselves driving around Chinatown looking to curb our bbt cravings without wanting to torture through downtown weekend parking. Hello Boba Island! Years ago when grocery shopping in Chinatown with my parents was still a thing, this was where wed end off after a long haul. Fast forward to today, Im surprised its still up and running with the added face lift! Still a bright green color scheme with no boxes on site! There were six girls behind the counter this visit, Im assuming due to some sort of training. They were all pretty friendly, wait for drinks wasnt all too long as well. Keeping it safe and nostalgic, I ordered the real fruit with milk bubble tea without tapioca ($5.50) Overall satisfying, tasted good with no complaints! More of a place to stop and go rather than to hangout and chill, I dont think Id go out of my way to grab a drink from here. Especially since bubbletea has become more of an addition to hanging out. Boba Island is still going to be a place I remember visiting but not jumping to revisit.
