This restaurant is small but mighty. Our party had the sopska salad, raznici and cevapi. All were delicious and tasty. Prices are decent and service was quick and entertaining . It’s in Little Italy. If you want to try something different, try Kafana.
We loved this little unassuming Kafana. The decor was adorable and a definite touch of the Balkans if you had to pressure to visit. The witness and staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very resonably priced. The food itself was very authentic and absolutely excellent. The evapi were perfectly cooked and the lepina was to die for. Definitely coming back.
We went when it was very slow, we were the only table in the restaurant. Waitress was friendly but not very helpful or motivated to answer questions about the food. Food was good. Decor basic.
Great food. We ordeted the platter for four with shish kebab beef, chicken and pork, sausages and bbq chicken. It’s all layered on top of salad, rice and veggies. A little light on the veggies but the platter could have fed six people. The waitresses were very friendly and seemed excited to give is the full experience with it being our first time. I would definitely go back.
Walked in and didn’t know if we should stay or go, my husband had to ask someone if we were suppose to sit ourselves or wait. The waitress took us to the back room and sat us. The food was ok, nothing special. The rice was so salty we could not eat it. The atmosphere was not very friendly.
A hidden gem. Awesome little place on the southern edge of Little Italy. The front room is a bar/cafe (pretty simple one with TV), while the actual restaurant is the inner room. The dining room is decorated like a family room (old fashioned European style) with old photographs from former Yugoslavia and knick-knacks.The lunch menu is modest but good. The items (kebabs, chicken roll, steak) all come with buttery delish rice and fresh roasted veggies. The Greek salad is pretty nice too. Their mixed grill platter (for 2) has a bit of everything and great value for 3 ‘regular’ appetites! The service is decent- however, you may have to wait a while for the food as it seems to be a smallish operation. All in all, a pleasant surprise- check it out for something unique and support a local small business!
Was expecting a lot considering the high rating which may have led to disappointment. Food was mediocre and service was poor. Only one wine choice and it was from chile(?!), seems like they would have done better to have wine from the region – all things considered. On a lighter note, the desserts were great, all homemade and fresh tasting. I’m not impressed, probably won’t be back.
