Very disappointed – ordered Salmon Sashimi, pcs were paper thin. Also ordered Calamari Tempura – pcs were tiny and batter not alight Tempura batter. Spicy Salmon roll reasonable. I also noticed that the actual restaurant was not clean, many tables not cleaned, even though it was 430pm and no clientele were present. Calgary has some amazing Japanese / Sushi restaurants – recommendation: don’t go here. $$ for mediocre quality.

Bought a Groupon for this place since it was close to where we live. Oh boy where do I begin! First off, the service is extremely slow. They were moving without any urgency whatsoever, the kitchen were disorganized (to put it nicely!) We waited for more than half an hour for the food to come out.Just 1 food came out which is the assorted bento box. It comes with rice and beef stir fry, yam fries, california rolls and edamame. The edamame was cold. The rest is not bad.Then more waiting. This time dumplings came out. Again, not bad. Waiting again. Salmon Avocado rolls finally came out and it was a joke. A sliver of salmon with a huge chunk of unripe crunchy avocado. I had one and the rest went in the garbage. More waiting, our last one which is bubble tea came out. Nothing special. But seriously, drinks usually come out first, not dead last.I didn’t realized that we bought a 4 course meal at a fast food japanese (that’s what they claimed they are!)restaurant. Because that’s how it was, only one food item came out and the next one didn’t come out until you almost finish the previous one and you have to be proactive about it too. Had to go back and forth numerous time to ask them if the food that was sitting on the counter is ours because they didn’t call you out or even if they did it was with this mousy voice that nobody will be able to hear. Not worth the money even with a Groupon deal!
Not a good place for sushi. Sushi is never available. You have to request it. When you do get it, It’s very warm. Room temp. Nasty!! Threw it in the garbage. Looks very disorganized behind the counter. Staff are friendly. They also messed up my order with someone else. Never going back.
Thought I would give this place a try, because you never know if it is a hidden gem. I would NOT recommend this place and I would not go back. Was very slow service and sushi was terrible. If I could give a rating of 0 I would have.
Our visit was for their grand opening that was a very big disappointment. I ordered teriyaki beef on rice and they gave me tempura prawns on rice. I was so excited to try the place I didn’t care and said okay that was my dish. The tempura was floppy and soft. The miso soup was the bottom of the pot as it was uuber salty. And the rolls were falling apart upon pickup with chopsticks. We were thoroughly saddened. 🙁
