I am Asian and I have eaten a lot of Pho in my time. Been to this place twice (to give them a second chance), and both times came out disappointed. Taste mediocre at best. Portions ridiculously small. Ordered a large Pho Noodle Soup (Sate), only 3 slices of beef, rest noodles and the noodles weren’t even that much. They only accept cash/debit??? Price was already quite high for a large soup, and to add insult to injury, you don’t get what you pay for. Reluctantly visited again with co-workers, same deal. So many better Pho places. Don’t expect this business to last long.
I’ve been to this place a couple of times now, as it’s one of the only decent Vietnamese restaurant in the South, taste wise at lease, or so I thought. The portions are significantly smaller than the portion you would see around NE Calgary area, but that’s not too bad. Taste is good and service is good, however, my first and definitely last time ordering to go was pretty garbage. Okay, you serve smaller portions, fine. But when I got my large PHO DAC BIET,(SPECIAL), they gave me only 2 slice of beef. Two. Yes, I thought they were clumped together, and they were. 2 slices together. Okay, I get that Asians are cheap, not racist I’m asian and I’m cheap, but 2 slices in a large? And it’s your specialty pho, that’s a joke. I get more meat back in Vietnam, and it’s for a dollar.I am definitely spending the extra 10 minutes to drive to Pho Maxim, since their portions are better and not to mention the broth is significantly more tasteful. You let me down but I guess that’s what happen when you have second gen working.
