Service was good, too many staff even as no one was there (two tables at 6 PM on a Friday evening were occupied- not a good sign!). Food was mediocre, and we paid a premium. Pieces of sushi were small and not fresh. Would be good if this were a small northern town. We won’t be back.

Been here for their sushi, which was really good, fresh and just what I wanted. This time I wanted something warm so I got Teriyaki Beef and Gyoza. There was plenty of beef, although overly salted, and a very small amount of vegetables which were greasy. The rice, well, seemed like it was left over rice, it was dry and borderline hard (didn’t get a picture). It softened somewhat with the sauce from the beef though. The Gyoza was sadly another poor execution. It was barely pan fried, not crispy at all! So disappointed. When you are hungry and don’t have a lot of other appealing options you eat what you paid for. Staff very friendly as always.

Haru is my go-to sushi spot in the SE. Many evenings of takeout or a quick roll have been had. The sushi is consistently well-executed. Tonight, as had salmon Sashimi (three thick pieces), avocado tempura (hot so you know it was freshly fried), salmon-avocado roll, dynamite roll and spicy salmon crunch roll. These are some of my favourite rolls. The dynamite has avocado in it, and the tempura shrimp is they use is fresh, not stale like I have sensed at other places. The spicy salmon crunch has a cereal texture crunch to it with fried bits inside and dollops of spicy mayo on the top. If you are looking for a place to eat good quality sushi in the south, this is your best bet. My other favourite spot is Oishi if you are seeking AYCE.

Very fast service and the staff were friendly. Drinks came as soon as we sat down and they gave us enough time to figure out what we wanted to order. Repeated our order back to us (which is always nice) and food came quickly. Cheese tempura was good (never seen it before) kind of like the Japanese version of mozzarella sticks. Cheese was gooey and batter was sweet and crunchy. Golden spicy tuna roll was tasty. Was covered in tempura batter so added a nice crunch. Sauce was flavourful. Beef tataki was good. Very thinly sliced with green onions and sauce on top. Nice that it’s so close to us. Can see myself coming back for more since they have so many menu options.

Nothing special. if you’re craving sushi, it’s a good place to go. Not very authentic, but I wouldn’t say it’s bad. I’d come back, and it’s located conveniently in Mckenzie towne

***still fast….ok for quick lunch. Their lunch combos have a lot of california roll. Rainbow roll is a california roll topped with shrimp, salmon and tuna with lovely golden and orange topiko….friendly service****fast and fresh. We enjoyed the smaller rolls. . Avocado and dynamite rolls. Assorted tempura was kinda greasy but tasty. We enoyed the rainbow roll. I wish they leave the tea pot on the table. I asked if they only had one teapot and I think she said yes. Lol. Tables r a bit narrow. Bathrooms are clean. I did get my tea refilled frequently.

Overpriced, poor quality food and extremely slow service. The food that was supposed to be hot was cold, and the tempura was soggy and stale. I complained but the waitress didn’t care. Don’t eat here.
