The service was absolutely horrible. I ordered a vermicelli noodle meal for takeout and asked if I could have hoisin and hot sauce and the man working the till stared at me like I was crazy and told me I couldn’t have any since hoisin and hot sauce are only for the soups. Then when I brought my meal back to my place to eat it I realized they had given me lettuce when I had asked for no lettuce.
Okay Vietnamese food- nothing extraordinary but there’s not much in this area of town in terms of decent Asian food. Why the low rating? My team has been here twice (table of 16) and there’s been a struggle to order large orders (despite pre-ordering). Hong An never has some of the meals at the same time. Paying is also difficult because they don’t organize the bills easily. A suggestion for large groups- ask for your order chit/ paper so you can bring it to the cash to pay. I ended up paying for two orders because they didn’t track who had already paid. There was just a disorganized pile of orders at the cash. The language barrier and/ or perhaps ignorance limited our ability to settle the over-payment so I left having paid for two meals when I only had one meal. I appreciate they are family owned and I always try to support local, family-operated businesses, but I can’t come back here. The struggle is real.
Glad to have found a good viet place in McKenzie towns area! Broth is pretty tasty, and you can tell it’s not full of msg or anything too salty. Vermicelli was really good too. I got the charbroiled pork & spring rolls and they weren’t dry or over cooked, and had good seasoning on them. Will definitely come back again!
I’ve been all over the city trying different beef satay pho and this is one of the best I’ve found! I would highly recommend a lunch or dinner stop at Hong An.
Food was good however service was so so. When ordering I had asked for salad rolls instead of spring rolls, when my food came out I got spring rolls. I asked the owner if I could please get salad rolls he mentioned I never asked for that and said it would be an extra charge. We never were asked if the food was good or not. Chef came out (wife of owner) and said make sure you ask for salad rolls next time. Food was really good however just too bad service wasn’t up to par
Soooo good! I come here all the time for the soup… especially the satay beef soup. They also have great subs and bubble tea. The avocado bubble tea is weirdly good! Great staff and service.
PHObulous – best pho in town. My husband and I came in for pho and vermicelli house special. Both were fantastic. You can tell the broth is naturally sweet from the bone and beef, not from msg. All meats and spring roll from the vermicelli are to die for, yummy… Service is super friendly and fast. Nice and clean… Can’t wait to come back and try other foods with friends and family… Good luck!!!
