Was here today for lunch with a few colleagues. The service was fast and the lady who made the chicken wraps was very generous with the toppings. Loved it.
Absolutely Terrible.. I use to go here all the time. But since the new management food is cooked poorly, prices have gone up and portions have gotten smaller. 3 olives in a Greek salad? Barely any taziki . Callimari cooked to the point i could break glass. Brutal! Don’t waste your money here. Never going back.
Gross. If you blow your nose, wash your hands. Simple right? Well not for the cook at Opa tonight. In fact he blew his nose and then wiped the sweat off his brow, took the money and then went back to cooking. Hand washing is simple and logical. Do It!!!
As you’ll notice, the only good reviews of this location came in years ago – and back then I would’ve agreed. However, over the past year I have given it many chances, and have been increasingly disappointed, to the point that I am actually warning others to avoid it like the plague. Tonight was simple – a pita wrap with fries. To start, the staff was talking and joking with each other in front of me while I stood there waiting to order. While waiting for my order to be cooked, the woman ahead of me was being served her calamari. She mentioned to the employee that she knows calamari well, and that it most definitely was undercooked. As I heard this I took a peek and she was absolutely right. The employee however said that because it was fresh oil, they will not look cooked when they are. Those of us that do a lot of cooking know that old and used oil creates a darker product, however new oil produces food that looks properly cooked – not undercooked. Now onto my meal.I could tell as she was putting the fries into my to-go box that they were also undercooked. All nineteen of them…When I got home, I bit into a fresh round of pita bread that was stuffed with meat that was as dry as a leather shoe sole. It was visibly dry, and with the half Brown lettuce it came with I threw out right in the trash. Unfortunately I only had those 19 soggy fries to somewhat fill me up – at least they were edible. The way I see it, this location has taken enough of my money over the years, and ruined enough of my meals after a hard day of work. Avoid it, and warn your friends and loved ones to do the same.
For a fast food this place is damn good. Atmosphere is beyond their control. Too bad.
Pita Wrap Plate excellent.. Three of us decided to go for Greek food. This happened to be the nearest place to McKenzie Lake Towne center. I had the Pita Wrap Plate. Everything about the dish was great. We had a side order of Calamari, which turned out great. Not to rubbery or crispy, just perfect. My friends both had the Souvlaki and Salad plates. I didn’t try either but they were something I will try in the future. Overall the cost came to about $40.00 which I found reasonable. Highly recommended!!
Great Take-Out. This is the second Opa Souvlaki I’ve visited in the last month and I was pretty happy with my dinner. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki with Greek Salad to go. It comes with a roasted potato, rice pilaf, pita bread and tzatziki. This place wasn’t too busy. In fact, it was empty before I arrived. It’s sad, really, because the food is good and the decor was warm and inviting. But when you offer a decent take-out meal, who wants to stick around?
