2018.05.13. was Mothers Day. My boyfriend and I took his mother for mothers breakfast. Our original plan was going to The Cora Breakfast by 9 am. But, when we arrived at the restaurant, it had a huge line up already. So, we had to change our plan to somewhere else for breakfast. There is breakfast place called Rickys all day grill, which is located on 130 Ave as well, is right across the street from The Cora Breakfast. Rickys All Day Grill is the same style restaurant as IHOP and The Core. It mainly serves Breakfast, and it has some locations across Canada. I had been to Ricky once in Surrey Center, BC. before. It had very excellent customer services there. After discussed with each other, we decided to have a try at Rickys All Day Grill. We arrived the restaurant quarter after 9 am. Interestingly, Rickys All Day Grill was not busy at all. We found a table and sat down right the way after we arrived. The server lady put us down to the table right beside the door. When we asked her to sit another table inside the restaurant, she was totally negotiating us. So, we had to sit down the table right beside the door. After that, she brought us the menu and drinks, we began to take a look at the menu. Then, she came back to take the order for so long. The items on the menu were the similar stuffs to Ihop and The Cora. Mommy and I have ordered the same thing. Both of us ordered Quick Commute, which includes 1 egg with 2 strips of maple bacon, shredded hashbrowns and the slice of toast. Besides that, mommy had her morning die Pepsi and I ordered an extra Waffle. My boyfriend had Two by Five for his meal, which includes 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 strips of maple bacon, 2 fluffy buttermilk pancakes and French toasts. After waited about 15 mins long, our food came out of the kitchen finally. All the food were well cooked and tasty. I like the extra waffle more. It was sweet and taste delicious. The hash browns were well done too. We have finished all the food. We did not know what happened, maybe the food was not very clean or we ate too much. After few mins, three of us all felt not good and had to go to the bathroom.I donot think we will go back to this restaurant for breakfast again. food.belindajin.com
Yesterday, October 28th 2017 I went with my husband to Rickys restaurant. I ordered the Good Morning Omelette and he ordered the Breakfast bowl. When we first arrived there we waited a couple minutes to be seated… then while the lady was putting out menus down she blocked my seat so, I had to stand there and stare at the table while I waited to be able to sit, just one of those small gestures where it would have been polite to shuffle to the side to at least let me sit first. After we were seated she took our drinks, then didnt come by with them. Another waitress came by and asked us for our drinks and we said someone else already asked and we were just waiting.. about 10 minutes later that second waitress came by again and we said we were still waiting. The first waitress came back and apologized because they didnt know where their sections were..??? Then we ordered… our water glasses were dirty so, I sat for another 40 minutes without a drink… when our food finally came AN HOUR after we had arrived… my omelette was simple to make.. its supposed to have tomatos, spinach, bell peppers, onions, artichoke and I added cheese..There was no cheese … no artichoke… no onions… no peppers… there was thin shavings if tomato and 3 little strings of spinach… and no side of fruit . When I asked why half the ingredients were missing she said sorry the kitchen is backed up… How is that even an acceptable reason for missing half the ingredients in an omelette. When I gave it back to her I wasnt offered anything else, no one apologized to me.. nothing.I had to sit there and watch my husband eat because I went to an establishment that couldnt even make an omelette properly.Im not usually the type of person to complain and I WILL NEVER return or recommend this restaurant to ANYONE.Worst experience at a business ever.
RICKYS WAIT ALL DAY GRILL One hour wait for food, cold food, subpar service. We arrived at 11 am (left at 1pm) placed our order at about 11:30 am, when restaurant was not yet too busy, food took way too long for what we ordered (sandwiches & eggs), food served was at best warm. I ordered Eggs Benny with a substitution of stuffed hash browns for regular hash browns. At ordering I asked if the charge would be the difference between a SIDE ORDER of hash browns to loaded ($1 difference) and she said yes. Upon receipt of bill I was charged for a full order of stuffed hash browns $3.99. In essence I paid for two orders of hash browns but only got one (or alternately $4 for sour cream and bacon bits). Talk about inflated prices! When I brought it up with the server, She told me she could do nothing as the prices were not set by them, but by head office. Not impressed. I have worked in many restaurants in the past and know that something can be done if the server wants to… she just did not want to. Here I thought I would give Rickys another chance after 10 years. NEVER AGAIN!!!! No more chances Rickys!
