Went here for the first time and tried their new sushi burrito. It was awesome! Service was great and food was soooo good. Will most definitely return!
Service here is god awful. I went up to her at the till when I tired several times to wave her down. ( it was happy hour, not very busy) to ask for a bowl of rice and she looked at me if I was pestering her. Food is good, service needs improvement, if they want their customers going back.
i used to frequent globefish pretty often, due in part to my ex’s affinity for their sashimi salad and its close proximity when i’d be at the mall. that being said, i haven’t really been back in a while. yesterday was the first time in months and i was pleasantly surprised.after a long day at the zoo, the boyfriend and i were craving sushi. he’s big into rolls; me, not so much. in the end, we decided on globefish because they have such a wide variety. we settled for the crispy california roll, the dynamite roll, the… crazy buster roll, and the spicy chili ramen (?) to go.the crispy california roll was exactly what you’d expect. the boy loved it; again, i didn’t. i’ve had it before and i found the coating to just be too thick. the dynamite roll was fine, perfectly like you’d expect too. the crazy buster was good. it’s a bit different, with the deep fried salmon/tuna so it’s kind of like.. a reverse aburi sushi roll? probably my favourite of the three. the ramen definitely stole the show. i’m not someone who often goes out of my way to drink the broth (unless i’m really cold) but i was tipping the bowl back and trying to get every last drop. the noodles were chewy and well done and the broth was perfectly milky and salty, without leaving me parched. it comes with lean pork, which isn’t my favourite, but with how full-bodied the broth was, it worked.still not my go-to sushi restaurant, but i’d probably (definitely?) go back for a bowl of their ramen. also, they’re really, really nice there and it’s a super welcoming atmosphere. even though i only talked on the phone and was inside for maybe three minutes, everyone was super friendly. it was also under $50 for two people.
I do like with Globefish being attached to the mall, that it is open for a decent length of time and not closed for a few hours during the day so you are able to go there for lunch.Their crispy spicy tuna roll has to be my favorite dish from here. Their crispy shrimp dumplings make for an excellent appetizer. Not too many to fill you up, but a decent number for what you pay.The only thing that I can’t seem to wrap my head around is how in the end you end up paying $40+ each when I can go to our usual sushi place and get almost the exact same items for $15+.
It was delicious! We had the salmon sashimi, and the wrapture roll with black rice, super tasty, and then we asked for something from the old menu, the sashimi roll, I’m sad it’s not on the current menu since this is our favorite roll, but so pleased they were able to get it for us! So tasty! Great service! Delicious!
They took away a large chunk of their menu (seems like all the things I used to eat). Not sure why this location has to have a pared down menu. The Ramen was okay, I’ve definitely had better.
Went here after some shopping for a late lunch. We got: Salmon Sashimi, Flames Roll combo, Rock’N Shrimp, Burning Love and I think… that was it?Anyways. Sushi is always super good here. Service has been slow on our previous visits but we found it to be quick getting the sashimi after a very brief time. They do have some of the best crab on rolls I have had before. They always seem to do a consistently better job that most sushi places, no idea why, but they do.Place is always nice, warm, drinks refilled and servers are attentive. We like it here very much except for the chinook parking lot which maintains madness all year long.
