They make a good burger – nothing to complain about there. They have a wide variety of toppings and its fairly priced. Their fries are decent as well but a few times I’ve gone they have been undercooked and limp from grease saturation. I haven’t been in a while but every once in a while I get the hankering for a five guys burger. Enjoy the 50s diner atmosphere. Oh and free peanuts!
Second chance after a couple of years. I tried 5 Guys a few times when they opened but my experiences had had me not return until this week. I remembered their burgers disappointing (flavorless meat and soft, too sweet buns) and over priced so I hadn’t gone back. This week I went with a friend for an early dinner and the burgers are better than I remember them. The meat was flavorful and juicy and the bun didn’t have that same texture and taste I remember from earlier visits. My friend and I shared a small fries and still had some to take home, but they were quite tasty, and I like that they have a sign staying where the potatoes were grown (Vaxhaul on this day). I still think it’s over priced for what it is, though. It’s no better quality than A&W and costs twice as much. Plus at A&W there isn’t a loud man in the kitchen making your ears ring every 30 seconds.
