I love Hat’s! I always leave stuffed and happy. The food is always hot and fresh and really yummy. The decor is pretty outdated but otherwise it’s a great place. I always go for the dinner buffet but have also ordered takeout and have never had a bad experience. I don’t love their ginger beef, it’s not what I would call ginger beef (it’s more of a spicy sweet and sour) but everything else is great.
Yuk! Food was not good! Shouldn’t have expected much since this is Medicine Hat but still I have in past encountered great westernized Chinese food in these small towns. There wasn’t anything that remotely stood out that I would consider eating again. I gave this place two tries. The first time I ordered a take out, which worked out to be the worst Chinese take out I’ve had. The fried rice was cold and undercooked and the beef dish I had on the side was flavourless.After I was recommended to try out their buffet, I visited the restaurant again against my best judgement and was I disappointed. Albeit slightly better than my take out experience, nothing on the table was enjoyable. Usually I have pretty low standards on wonton soup and would eat any but this was also pretty bad. Service was adequate both times though, too bad I visit restaurants more for its food than for the service. Shocking right?!
