Solid small mom and pop Chinese Buffett place. They have parking. They keep their quantities small and replenish throughout. It’s out lasted Shokudo across the way. Like any other Buffett some things were better than others. Some highlights would chilli pepper calamari.. wings…xui long bow…. one thing we did not like is the baby charge. Babies are charged 3.95 at the buffet. Small but hey the baby drinks out if the bottle. They have a mediocre dessert and ice cream bar. But for the price it’s good enough.
We always go to Gold Bistro for Chinese food because we have had excellent service, good tasting food and a good variety. The food is constantly being refilled so hot and fresh.
Gold Bistro has the appeal… no, it doesn’t have any appeal. Usually people have tastebuds, but I question the chef’s as all the food was bland or over seasoned and had a revolting after taste. After my unfortunate experience there, I am legitimately concerned about the risk of acquiring food poisoning. The wonton soup wonton meat filling had a satisfying flavour and texture, however, all other elements of the soup tasted like dust. the sweet and sour pork was your typical over seasoned dish, the ginger beef on the other hand was tough, stringy, and nearly inedible. The texture of the salt and pepper quid was surprisingly good, the seasoning, however, was uneven which caused the flavour to disappoint the texture. If you ever decide to risk your health and safety by attending this restaurant, do not, I repeat DO NOT eat the sticky rice. On the plus side, the bathrooms were clean.
Great buffet! I don’t understand the negative reviews about Gold Bistro. I have been here numerous times and always want to come back. The selection is good and the quality is above par. Its not Sun Island Eatery but its a buffet and if you are hungry Gold Bistro is a good destination. The fried chicken is awesome and the shumai is very tasty. My only complaint would be the ice cream…stay away from the old, mixed and over frozen ice cream.

Good food. As a non destination place it makes it easy to get into on the weekend. It is the cleanest restaurant kitchen I have ever seen. I took a wrong turn. Anyway they don’t have a huge variety which may be why what they do have is done well. The staff turn over is almost non existent which may account for their consIstency. Any I 9th have the buffet so I don’t know what it’s like ordering off the menu. Steve

After appies and soup were eaten Restaurant about 1/3 full Highlites squid was tender and ginger beef tastesIf food could be hotter is would have been amore enjoyable experienceCold food = cold shoulder
