I entered at 11:55 am on a Thursday and the premade lunch choices were all waiting for me. I bought a combo meal for $8.95 and I thought it was great value. Inside was clean, and I got to watch a Filipino drama while eating. I had a kind of shrimp paste pork, mixed veggies in a nice soup stock, and rice. I thought it was all delicious and I would eat here again if in the area.

Kutsara at Tinador is a small Filipino restaurant that specializes in quick meals. Primarily relying on their warm buffet, they provide quick meals served up instantly. It’s honestly what you would expect to see in a food court if a Filipino restaurant was available. But this spot in Midnapore is large enough to comfortably order food and sit down. The best thing at this shop is probably the BBQ Pork skewers. The sweet sauce glazed on the soft pork is a solid street food snack. And for the fact they keep their food in a warm buffet, the skewers can actually stay fresh for a while. The freshness factor is my main issue with this place. While the food with meats in sauces are fine, they’re not always fresh unless you’re there right as they put the dishes out. In the end a plated meal from the buffet is under $10, which isn’t a bad deal. There are a few dishes you can buy that are made to order as well. I’ve done the Lechon Kawali (roasted pig) and it’s a nice tender meat with a crisp skin (that I thought could be crispier). Expect it to be salty though. One dish is a bit much, I found it was best to share with others.Normally, I’m a huge breakfast guy and the all-day breakfast here is perfect with the sweet Filipino sausage and bacon, but for a cost of $12.50, it’s hard to not find better value in a plated meal from the buffet. There is an option to do take-out which I’ve done for gatherings. There are three sizes of platters you can get of the food with costs varying based on what you order. I’ve had their pancit noodles to go and they’re a good choice to feed a lot of people from the thin rice noodles loaded with salty ingredients like shrimp and egg. I’ve also bought orders of finger sized spring rolls which went for 10 for $8.50.The staff are pretty busy and don’t seem to have time for a lot of small talk. If you go here, I would suggest going with Filipino friends who can guide you through the various types of food and can more easily communicate with the staff.

Weird. I wanted to try this place out so I went in for lunch solo one day. When I was there, the prepared food is displayed in kind of a buffet style, but the people working there dish it up for you. It looked and smelled pretty good.I stood in a lineup waiting to order some of the food – the people working there (I won’t call them wait staff), would not look at me to allow me to order. I stood there, staring at them and the food for about 5 minutes, trying to place an order when my turn came up – they did not take my order – I am not sure why. This was one weird lunch experience – I walked out without food – will never go back.

Total disappointment, bad service, extremely expensive…. Total rip off. 2 people, $50 total for two servings of rice and 4 very small sides (one bowl apprx: 2 oz beef and veggies, one bowl with one chicken leg and sauce and a two bowls with a few spoons of luke warm undercooked eggplant and okra). We were still hungry, walking out and went to Wendy’s. No labels on food choices, nobody described how the food is served (served buffet apparently with rice, which was cold, separately)… Very disappointed. Never spending a cent in this place again. It is clean though… I’ll give it that.
