Vietnamese is one of my favorite cuisines, one reason being its usually quick turn around time. Never did I think i would wait over an hour for a bowl of Vietnamese noodles. This place’s quality was poor, service was terrible … while waiting, one can’t help but think its an unorganized mess.
Had the satay beef vermicelli with spring rolls. Was pretty good. Service is pretty quick but the staff all love shouting at each other in Vietnamese which can get annoying fast. They really don’t seem to understand English well either so would avoid here if you had questions for them related to allergies.
Had tried this place 2 or 3 times before, but I think I’ve finally given up on it and won’t be returning. They’re just quite rude, the food is mediocre and it’s quite overpriced. The vermicelli dishes are at least like 11.50, but they don’t come with spring rolls, which I find weird. I had a vermicelli bowl with chicken but I wasn’t really sure if it was chicken, if you know what I mean.. just like weird thickened deli meat or something. Just didn’t taste fresh. Also, the vermicelli bowl just had some shredded carrots and iceberg lettuce (and bean sprouts, too). My usual place has fresh cilantro (I think?), cucumber shreds, etc… and therefore simple iceberg lettuce, and some barely shredded carrot pieces just doesn’t scream quality.Just quite rude, barely any service and I’m actually glad we went today because it was an opportunity to finally realize how crappy it is. What’s really weird though is that the actual interior of the restaurant is quite nice! A nice fish tank, beautifully maintained etc… but too bad for the bad food and bad service!
Ordered 2 chicken noodle soups to go. The soups were pretty good. The meat was fresh. One of the orders was messed up unfortunately. But the beef soup was also pretty good. Lol
We liked going to this restaurant, tonight was probably the last time we ate there because we were overcharged by at least $15 and we still don’t know what he charged us for. If the owner thinks he is getting away with this, he lost customers tonight. Never again!
Food is average and the WORST service I’ve ever had in Calgary. The guy that told us to have a seat was miserable. We waited a half hour before the waiter came, the same miserable guy who sat us.. I would have walked out after 10 minutes but my wife made us stay because our kids where hungry. The restaurant looked like they just had a rush because every table had dirty dishes on them. By the time we got our food, it was two hours from sitting down. The other tables still hadn’t been bussed.Everyone else’s food was okay, they charged me $2 for an empty bowl to split the meal between my daughters. My meal tasted like dish soap.I had to go in the back to the kitchen to get the waiter to pay so I could leave. Will never go back.
The food here is decent but the service is some of the worst I have ever had. I literally had to bring my plate to the front counter when I was done because no one came to our table for at least 20 minutes after we were done eating.
