As a student just living in Edmonton to work for the summer, I was thrilled to discover this place. Ive only had a cappuccino so far, but that was one of the best tasting cappuccinos Ive had in Canada by far. Ive been itching to go back ever since I was there last weekend. I would 100% recommend this place for coffee lovers who enjoy a softer tasting espresso that leaves a wonderful taste in your mouth. Huge fan. This rating is based solely on the coffee.
Small little cafe with the Best gelato on whyte inMy Opinion. They have large sized macroons and other baked goods as well. Price is great for the gelato 5$ a scoop 5.75 for double scoop.
De Capo is excellent. The coffee is some of the best in the city. And there are some really great gourmet places in town now to compete with. The staff are unerringly friendly. The cookies are delicious. The location is awesome. Out of the craziness of Whyte and in one of the best locations (Roots on Whyte Building) in the city. Nice job guys!
Coffee Anyone?. Hands down the best coffee out of Edmonton. I will always recommend the cappuccino from here to anyone, service could definitely be worked on.
Worst service ever. I just came from what was the worst service I ever had at a coffee bar. The servers first ignored me, then assumed I knew nothing about the drink that I ordered, were beyond condescending the whole time, and I left with a drink that was nowhere near the quality I was expecting. Will definitely not go back, and in fact will actively tell people to avoid this restaurant.
Inspired to write first review ever. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years and am generally understanding and empathetic that any number of reasonable factors can create an off dining experience. although the lunch atmosphere was warm, the food was good, the service i received was some of the worst i’ve ever had. the waitress was cold, rude and absent minded. every simple request seemed to irritate her and increase her inappropriate behaviour. i wasn’t the only patron who took notice of this either.
You can do better, Da Capo.. I’m a longtime fan of Da Capo on 109th Street and pretty much expected the same great service and drinks at the Roots on Whyte location. The first time I dropped by for drinks, I figured maybe it was just an off day or new staff. This afternoon, a friend and I came in for lattes and they were just terrible. The girl making them in front of us clearly didn’t have a clue or just didn’t care. Not even lukewarm and badly poured, these just weren’t up to snuff. Da Capo, we know you can do better. Especially while we’re waiting for the main location to re-open…
