Great buffett and super attentive staff -fantastic! Spinach paneer was nicely balancedband not over salted. The dal punjab is very similar to the dal mukhani I make at home and worth a second helping!
Not an authentic Indian place, Biryani is sweet and tandoori appatiziers which should generally dry are soaked in gravy, onion kulcha is doughy without any flovour, not worth the money.
Disenchanted with our last Indian resturant we thought we would try a resturant that’s been around for years but we have never tried. The resturant was clean and and the Naan bread was super fresh. They had a nice spread for buffet and of course the butter chicken was delicious. We enjoyed the fresh fruits and of course a gulab at the end. The service was a bit chilly at the beginning but server warmed up and was pleasant.
Daawat has excellent authentic Indian food and I would dare say one of the best in Edmonton. I came here twice for their lunch buffet (under $15/ person!), once with co-workers and once they invited me. They are located on Whyte Avenue and parking can be tough at times.Their buffet has a large variety of drinks, naan bread, salads, soup, vegetarian, non-vegetarian and desert options. Specifically, I loved their coconut naan bread – a bit sweet and so tasty alone. They also have an a la carte option as well if you do not eat that much.What I was most impressed by was their dedication to their service and atmosphere. The decor is not over the top and appears to be quite traditional. The servers were very attentive in providing you water, naan bread and always checked up on you to make sure everything is going well and to remove your dirty plates. When I was grabbing my food from the buffet table, I also noticed that the servers always made sure everythjng was topped up and clean.After coming here twice, I would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back to try their dinner buffet.
Fresh naan made to order. Great selection for a lunch buffet with a wide pallet of Indian cuisine. Went for a quick lunch and all left full. Try to coconut naan for a dessert, a little sweet with a dash of coconut sprinkles. Yum!
Do not eat here; the owners and servers refused to honour discount vouchers and have to go through a lot of hoops to get extra charges refunded. The discount purchased clearly stated the price for 2 dinner buffet is $36, not $46. Kudos to GoAsAGroup for dealing with it promptly but the restaurant was only willing to give 1 free buffet as compensation at first. Unfortunately, we do not plan to eat here ever in the future.
Ordered through uber eats. I got butter chicken with plain rice and mattar paneer with garlic naan. Best Indian food I’ve had in a while. It was a lot for one person but I’m going to throw the rest in the freezer and I’m sure I’ll get another 2 good meals out of it.
