I don’t think I can pronounce the name of this place so it will be hard to suggest it to friends. I’ll just tell them to google the German / Austrian restaurant on 99 st that starts with a B. First time here. Went for lunch. Nice decor, decent service but the food is worth remembering. There are 3 different specials to choose from. I had the Pork Cutlet with Buttered Potato and Carrots. I started with the Goulash Soup. The food was cooked perfectly and I was very satisfied. The lunch special is only $13. I will be going back and soon.
For some wierd reason we always have schnitzel at Christmas time so I brought my parents here and I am very glad I did. The five of us all had a different type of schnitzel with a different side (buttered potatoes, fries, or Vienna pasta). I ordered the fried cheese to start which is definitely not your typical mozza stick, the starter salad which came with the meal was a potato salad and green salad half and half, and I would commit crimes to get the chef to teach me how to make that potato salad, the simplest things sometimes surprise you the most. All the entres came out perfect, the red cabbage I added on was great. My mother and father were so impressed, the service was excellent and the decor reminded me of places I have eaten at in Europe. Value wise prices were fair, everyone left full and being able to hear the chef pound the schnitzel while you’re sitting drinking your beer, let’s you know what to expect in terms of quality. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definitely come back.
This is my favourite restaurant. Food consistantly great. I wish it were open all day, all week. They changed the lettuce in their wonderful salad, and I wish they would go back to crispy head lettuce!! The decor is very comfortable. reminds me of a German restaurant. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone!!!!!
Amazing. The food is top notch. It takes some time but you know you are getting top quality food for the wait and price. I would recommend!
I have been going to this place for 38 years. Absolutely love this food. I even have the apple strudel as an appetizer because usually to full if as a dessert. You have to realize this is not fast food. This will be a 2 hr meal. Knowing that going in you should have a wonderful evening
Slow good yep the waiter is definatley a dick!!. Yep the food was slow..yep it was worth waiting for..and yep the waiter definately needs an atitude adjustment…cant believe the owner keeps him hired on..only black mark on the experience!!!
Our experience at the Bauernschmaus Restaurant. We had a reservation for 5:30, got seated immediately upon our arrival and then we waited. We ordered drinks quite soon after being seated and also placed our food order before 6 p.m. Our food didn’t arrive at our table till 7:30 with no apology for the wait or an explanation what the problem was. Would not go back there as this was our second experience of waiting there.
