I came to try their spicy chicken on a Saturday evening. The spicy chicken was surprisingly very spicy. The good kind of spicy. Eating it with the melting cheese really helped tone it down. I was amazed that with so much sauce the chicken was still able to stay crispy and moist on the inside. The cheese corn tasted burnt and their original chicken was a tad bland. Over all, it was pretty good and definitely a cool experience on the Korean fried chicken hype.
Pieces of chicken were huge, came with a side (I chose fries). The fries are basically costco fries, nothing to rave about…a fresh cut potato fry would have gone along way especially for the $18 combo price for 5 piece chicken and fries. As for the yummy chicken…it was crispy, but I would have preferred some flavour to it. A little bland….so I opted for the sweet and spicy sauce (extra cost and a little cup provided). Staying with the chicken, I felt like it was a grandmas recipe and someone wanted to jump on the fried chicken wagon. Homestyle cooking and fresh….that’s the best I can say. Having to add the sauce was a killer, after paying extra for it…it was pretty thin consistency, and more like a broth base vs a thick sticky stay in the chicken and lick your fingers kind of thing.
