Last night I came here with family for my brother’s birthday. It was the first time coming back to this location after a few years. The food still tastes the same, it was a busy Saturday night, we ordered a few racks of ribs as well as pasta, and I had the fish and fries. My plate was okay, the fish were a bit over fried (being a dark golden brown and rather crispy) but nonetheless I still enjoyed it. My only complaints would be how long it took for the food to get to our table (about 35 minutes after ordering), and the fact that my food was lukewarm. The fries were kind of half cold half hot, which wasn’t very appealing. The ribs however – were much better compared to my fish and fries. The pasta was a bit oily for my taste. All in all, the service was okay, food was okay, the place is just okay. As for the pictures, I am sorry. The lighting was very dim in the area we were sitting in (bright enough to read the menu).
I hadn’t been to this location for years until yesterday, Saturday, for lunch. I wasn’t expecting this, but my beef dip was actually very good. There was some fatty parts but overall it was really good! It was nice to see the au jus steaming hot when it hit the table. Now for the serviceoutstanding! The waiter, I wish I took down his name, was very attentive, let us take our leisurely time to order, and sit after our lunches were done. Water was filled frequently. I particularly liked that he would look you right into your eyes and answer with a smile. Thank you for your great service.
Like Red Lobster, Tony Roma’s has declined over the years. In fact, the last time I ate there, I came home to a stomach ache! I had their salmon, potatoes & gravy for reference. I really hope that they up their quality soon, and not just focus on making their ribs look good.
Not very Sanitary and Burnt Tough Ribs. Traveling out of Calgary I stopped for a meal at Tony Roma’s near the airport based on the ads for BBQ ribs. Well… that is the ONLY time I will ever pass through their doors. After ordering the Original Ribs I was brought a plate for the bones… comlete with a chip in the plate…. and in moving it I noted a SCUM … as if it had not been scrubbed very well, if at all. Not Sanitary at all if you can wet your napkin and remove the gritty scum left on a plate… ( the serving plate also had the dirty film on it too)When the ribs caem they were overdone and tough… so much so that when I cut through the meat there was a notble CLANG when the knife finally went through the meat and hit the plate. The sauce swabbed on the ribs was NOT remarkable… more like a derivative of a condensed Tomato soup with no tang or kick to it at all, and no sauce was on the table for cunsumer to doctor the meat to their taste.I probably will never be in Calgary again, but if I were, I would Never go to Tony Roma’s again
I didn’t like this place.. I’ve been here before with a much better experience, however on this day we got two orders of baby back Ribs for $27 each plus $6 for two pop – mid day. No buns were provided. Stuffed potato arrived with a teaspoon of sour cream inside and half as much butter. No other offerings. No offer of coffee, ever, and how can you completely ruin a club soda with lime? It tasted like they poured strong lime juice in it from a bottle. Yuchhh – worst ever!! Service was curt and unrefined . Restaurant was quiet, and populated sparsely, mostly with seniors. Total including tip $63.00. I won’t be back, and would certainly not serve my own guests this substandard fare.
Our expierence at this location was far below average. I was hesitant to try this place but was given a gift card for Christmas and thought why not. I should of listened to my initial gut feeling. Even though no one was there on a Saturday night we still had zero interaction with our server who could care less about us. The calamari resembled burnt rubber and was obviously served with some weird ranch dipping sauce. Not tzatiziki. The shrimp tacos had one of those ‘salad in a bag’ things on it and our baked potatoe was dry and cold. However the ribs although over dressed were the best part. Honestly don’t waste your time at this establishment. As an avid diner I spent only the 50$ on my gift card and walked out feeling utterly unimpressed.
